Characteristics
Those who play golf in Le Betulle are time and time again surprised by the magnificent surroundings. The views are breath-taking- on the left-hand side the moraine hills Serra and behind them the Alps, which seem to form the border of the Biella Golf Club. The course is situated in an altitude of 600 m and was built in 1957 by the english architect John Morrison.

In the footsteps of Roy McIlroy, played here in 2006 as a diletanti (amateur) the course record with 65 strokes - par 73!!!
Hard to believe we are here for the first time, this time we chose Turin as our destination to play here.
John Morrison - a very polyvalent person - worked here. His CV is impressive, as a sportsman (soccer, criket and golf), as a Royal Air Force pilot, studying law and history, as a golf course designer, the successes as well...
He was a partner and director in Harry Colt's company, from his personal hand about a dozen courses were created, all but one have received the highest consecration!!!
John Morrison designed this in the early 1950's and it was completed several years later by John Harris and Donald Harradine.
At that time there were not even 20 courses in Italy!!!
If you drive up the serpentines, you don't expect a course with only moderate terrain transitions - were amazed..
The birches - Le Betulle - dominate the landscape, through which the very good course runs. Greatly placed in the terrain that makes for Target Golf every now and then.
The course is very difficult to play.
We played here on the best greens on this Turin golf trip but very difficult to play as well as difficult to read - the light conditions were not ideal. They served a whole lot of 3 putts...
You can walk this well.
The playing conditions here were far better than in Turin, the ground was wet but not deep, they were able to work almost everything with the machines - they also played here recently.
The course maintenance was very good, but the finishing touches were missing due to the weather.

Not all have five stars - but it's enough.

Beautiful partly wooded hilly course. A course with a good layout and quite long to play. The front desk was friendly and we were served in a friendly manner in the restaurant. As on all courses in Italy, however, there are a lot of pitch marks and the divots on the course are simply left lying.
