Characteristics
Located in the Medway Towns of Kent, Gillingham Golf Club offers a historic testing ground for golfers. Originally laid out by the legendary James Braid in 1919 and constructed by the army, the course has a rich military heritage. A 1990s update by Donald Steel enhanced the layout with tight, tree-lined fairways and small, fast greens. Although not overly long, the mix of driveable and demanding par-4s requires precision over power. The experience concludes with a scenic 18th hole, overlooked by a modern clubhouse and balcony where visitors can enjoy traditional home-cooked cuisine.
