Characteristics
Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links in the Highlands of Scotland is the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World. This is a unique Scottish Links Golf Course was re-designed by the five time Open Champion, James Braid. On what is a true links course we welcome visitors throughout the season where play is available all year round. We were awarded with Scotland's Best Golfing Experience (value for money) at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards in 2017 and again in 2018.
As a national championship venue the club recently hosted the Scottish Boys Under 16s Open Championship in 2018 which brought together an abundance of golfing talent (144 players) from the UK, Europe and beyond to our Scottish Links Golf Course. The players were represented from countries including Austria, Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Russia, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales.
The course is renowned for not only its uniqueness being surrounded by three sides by the water but its strategically placed bunkers and fast deceptive greens. We are only 20 minutes away from Inverness City and directly across the water from Castle Stuart Golf Club and only 45 minutes from Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Visiting golfers are welcome all year round where we go that extra step to ensure that everyone who comes to the links will enjoy their day as much as possible and that their visit here is a memorable one.

Links golf in its purest form including street
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 4, 2023
This old and special public links course from 1793, also the 15th oldest course in the world, is something special. It is located on a narrow headland, where at the end the dolphins show themselves to numerous observers who previously drive on the small road through the middle of the golf course or walk along the beach along the golf course. For some golfers this is real stress, for others it is a great challenge to hit the narrow fairways and not the beach or the street. The condition was very good and the employees in the ProShop and the catering area were great. The ProShop was well equipped and prepared for the fact that some golfers were forced to arrive without their golf luggage. Always happy to have a round on this extraordinary course. 8.2023

Nice reception in the pro shop. Great sea view. Fairways a bit monotonous, partly narrow and confusing. Interesting and fast greens. Good food in the restaurant.
