Links golf in its purest form including street

This old and special public links course from 1793, also the 15th oldest course in the world, is something special. It is located on a narrow headland, where at the end the dolphins show themselves to numerous observers who previously drive on the small road through the middle of the golf course or walk along the beach along the golf course. For some golfers this is real stress, for others it is a great challenge to hit the narrow fairways and not the beach or the street. The condition was very good and the employees in the ProShop and the catering area were great. The ProShop was well equipped and prepared for the fact that some golfers were forced to arrive without their golf luggage. Always happy to have a round on this extraordinary course. 8.2023

Old golf course

Nice reception in the pro shop. Great sea view. Fairways a bit monotonous, partly narrow and confusing. Interesting and fast greens. Good food in the restaurant.

Positive surprise after 2013

The surprise was great, as we after four years again in Fortrose & Rosemarkie have popped up: the whole area was this time in a very excellent condition, so that we have for 25 pounds green fee a lot of golf. The position of the square on a land, and bordered on two sides by the sea, is as ever to be surpassed. The first rather difficult first lanes have to be "survived", afterwards it becomes much more relaxed, although the place does not leave its left character completely. In the clubhouse you are still a welcome guest and has no problems to get in touch with the locals. The Golf Club is one of the 15 oldest clubs in the world and was founded at the end of the 18th century. In such places you do not play every day. Clear recommendation.

No "real" links course

Wanted in connection with a cruise in Scotland playing golf.
First the positive: the green fee prices are incorrect. There were only 30 pounds in July (instead of 40 lt. Pricelist) calculated. Booking via computer from home. Good general state space, relatively short fairways, all clearly visible. Faire greens. Right and left the square the sea (but not come into play). Everything as you would imagine a great day of golf. Now to the abovementioned title: not a real left, several times only slightly höhres Rough. Beautiful yellow flowering shrubs (gorse u. Ä.) Bring the balls only in strong winds but is well assessed. (Have sacrificed only to the 18 two balls) The pro shop is poorly sorted (wanted Scottish Golf Socks buy) The rental clubs were too long for men and there are only 4 golf carts in poor general condition available (was needed in this case because a Flight partner had foot problems) When returning from the round at 6 pm clock has already been closed. Golf restaurant is more of a pub with only 2 beers, coffee unknown or only from the machine. In the bay in front of the lighthouse itself Walte and seals are frolicking. We were not made aware it. We just wondered the large number of visitors this Attrraktion (after the par 3 in which it is dubbed a road - once something new). But were due to return to the ship not wait... Resume nicely from it not spectacular!

Only for purists

Dream location on a promontory in the Moray Firth, water from three sides to wonderful views and neither wind nor rain. Would actually be a relaxed day, if not for the golf course was: super-hard fairways where verspringen the balls uncontrollably, somehow squeezed grass under the balls of the exception, many webs due to the limited space in the landscape and shrubbery, in which everything, never to return disappears. Absolutely positive: fast greens, worthy of the name. Links golf purists. If you like it, will feel comfortable here.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your review of our links course here in the Highlands of Scotland. At this time we are celebrating our 125th anniversary on our links course. This is a truly unique course which in all honesty you will find nowhere else being that we are in effect surrounded on three sides by the sea and with any links course and especially this year we have seen the ball roll as it should do on our fairways and greens where the art of a chip and run shot is something which needed to be part of your game.

This season our links course has hosted the Scottish Boys & Girls Under-14's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, the Scottish Ladies Golf Associations Commonwealth Spoons and the Scottish Golfers Alliance Championship so we are widely recognised as a great venue to visiting golfers and championships which as you know can be a stern test in windier conditions. I hope you enjoyed your time here and we welcome any golfers to play and experience true links golf at it's best and for a price which other clubs just can not rival.

A stiff breeze included

Fantastically beautiful, hilly, sometimes violent wind. You will receive friendly and feels welcome in the clubhouse.

Super Links Course

In good weather, a dream links course, you can see the sea on the left and right. When the weather is bad it is very windy and narrow space is even more difficult. Unfortunately, there are not a couple 5.

Dear Sir/Madam

I agree, this is a true Scottish links golf course and I hope you will return some day to our shores to play again. I hope you will pass on a good word to your friends and family and with views from our course which are second to none, I hope they will get the chance to experience this for themselves.

I am not too sure what you mean by 'Unfortunately, there are now a couple of 5'. We have recently extended the course and with an additional 180 yards this will include two par 5 holes and some longer par 4's which will be tough when windy. In my opinion a great addition to our already highly popular links course with visiting golfers. Remember we are only 45 minutes away from Royal Dornoch and only 30 minutes away from Castle Stuart Golf Links.
