Dooks is always worth a trip - especially when the weather is nice

This is the oldest golf course in County Kerry. The founders probably had a lot in mind when they wanted to strike their first blow in this corner of the world. As a vacationer, I feel incredibly comfortable with this sport, even if the surroundings do their part. And I can definitely say that about Dooks Golf. The view extends from the wild dunes of Inch Beach, to Rossbeigh Beach and beyond the mountains of the Dingle Peninsula to the peaks of the Ring of Kerry.
I was lucky enough to be able to play on a flight with my son and a couple from Dublin on September 6th, 21st with a cloudless sky, 26 degrees and only a light breeze. And we were all absolutely thrilled.
Thank goodness Dooks still has the "wild" left character and is not yet as Americanized as several neighboring courses in Kerry. The prices in this area are generally not cheap, but how often do holidaymakers go to this extraordinary links golf paradise.

Very nice links course with very friendly staff. Several times the nice ranger had approached us about the nice weather and asked if everything was alright. A great view is offered during the round, so be careful not to be overtaken by the next flight. The fairways are, if you are used to Central European Rasenfairways with a lawn length of 3-4 cm, getting used to, but still play well. The greens are hard (hardly pitch marks!) Dooks has been on my list of places to play for years. I love Links Course. The expectation at the place was high, especially since 140 € per person is not cheap. Dooks is a typical links course with good embedded greens, manicured fairways and beautiful views of the sea.
