Greens

Friday last I played "De Goese" for the first time. After reading the previous review I just wanted to make clear the greens were super when I played. The course was in perfect shape and I also was pleased with the information at the tee boxes. Even info on pin positions was given. All the other facilities were fine as well and the staff in shop and restaurant were very helpful and kind. All in all an enjoyable afternoon.

Nice club in Zeeland with average course quality

The Clubhouse is bedded into a scenic environment and has a nice view from the terrace to Green 9,18 and Tee 1, but you can also watch the putting green. You can find a 9 hole PAR 3 training course arround the driving range that has been made easier / less attractive over the past three years (some bunkers were erased by fairway). Watch out for lost drives that may scratch your game on hole 1,2 or 8,9 in case the unexperienced golfer forgets a FORE. Desk staff is friendly and attentative, the internet page worth a visit for first time guests. Teeoffs were in fair condition, the short fairway was generally playable, but sometimes also with a tendency to poor in late April at temperatures arround 24 degrees C. You will miss a second cut and deep rough throughout the course. Tactical bunkers at some spots bring some risk and reward into the game, but moreover the water hazards have to be taken care off, that requires the golfer to plan his iron game. Alone, bumpy greens, with volcano crater putting lines and and non maintained pitch marks reduce the fun of the game on every green. Bunkers are not always brought to the required original standard from previous players, despite the advise on the card. Local rules are only printed in dutch on the card. Some holes are next to some scenic houses, control your game. You will have fun with your driver and woods at nearly each hole, also have an eye for the various birds alongside the course. Due to the quality of the course the rating should be 3 stars max, but environment and club house amenities are a plus.
