Quiet place

Coming back to this course after 10years, to see the what is new. Right away I have to highlight the surroundigs, it is very quite there and very calming. Course was quite busy, however despite that no waiting or delays. When you arrive you will reach a big parking lot, so enough place to park. To the clubhouse its a bit uphill, but nothing compare to Y-golf. Let me highlight very friendly reception staff there. Practice facilities are not far, however I do not walk again that uphill from parking lot. Back to the game, opening par 4 is dog leg right with easy to reach green. The other holes on front nine, are a bit boring for me, wide open fairways, not much danger, with few trees. Not many accurate shots needed. However back nine offer few amazing holes with donhill and uphill shots with nice par 3 on 16th hole. Greens were a bit slow, however without any bad spots, fairways quite dry these days, but better average for summer. Price for the greenfee was about right for the weekend Finishing in 19th hole with good food, I can only recommend this course and its kids friendly.

Challenging Course in a Beautiful Setting

Golf Resort Telč is a parkland course set in rolling hillside and lakes close to the historic old town. With four sets of tees, the course can be played to 6900yds, 6600yds, 6100yds and 5700yds. I played the course in early July. The condition was good. Fairways were cut higher than most UK courses and greens were slow, but consistent.

The bunkers need greater care and maintenance. I landed in the face of one and the ball plugged, due to the excessive depth of the sand.

Telč is a beautiful course with interesting holes making excellent use of the terrain. It is a challenge for low-mid handicappers, but not unfair to higher handicappers, who could play off the forward tees and reduce some of the longer carries over water. It is a difficult course for beginners.

My daughter and I played the course during a long weekend trip to Prague and Telč. We stayed at the adjoining Hotel Šiškův Mlýn, which advertised the course as offering rental clubs. When we requested two sets, the pro shop were not prepared for providing them and we ended up with two half sets consisting of 1970s style irons (with grooves caked in mud), no driver, one odd rescue club and two putters reminiscent of the type provided on a crazy golf course.

I would definitely recommend this course, but only if you bring your own clubs. I feel they are missing a trick in not catering for the golfer who wants to play a round when on vacation, without the expense and hassle of transporting clubs half way across Europe.

Fantastic place

Each hole is unique, some water hazards, almost never completely flat, sometimes you have to play over a ditch or shoot through tree fugitives. The area is beautiful, excellent space condition. The Chief Greenkeeper knows his craft. Reception and Catering also the finest. The price performance ratio is super. And after the Gulf is a beautiful town Telc.
