True hidden gem

If you pass on this course because it's only 9 holes, you missed an opportunity to play in a special place. It's seaside but not really a links, as it's perched an the cliffsover the water. You must make an effort to get there as it's not on the way to anywhere.

A pearl this place. Played in the best weather, challenging holes, sensational panoramas of the unique landscape. What an extraordinary day of golf. We came from Donegal Town which is about 70km to Cruit Island. And the journey is an experience. However, this is totally exceeded by the incredible warmth that reigns there. Now to the golf course: Yes, it's just a 9-hole course. But if you get used to it, you're probably playing one of the most extraordinary linkscours available. It goes criss-cross and you are never really sure where the ball landed due to the many blind blows. You have so many different panoramic views, that you constantly pauses and just enjoys the view. The highlight is the hole 6. A par 3 with 199 m over a gorge. To the right of it the sea with steep rocks and undercuts. Unforgettable beautiful. Of all the places we have played in Ireland so far, the most impressive.
