Characteristics
Founded in 1894, County Cavan Golf Club sits about a mile north-west of Cavan in Co Cavan, off the R198 Killeshandra Road. It's an 18-hole parkland course and is very popular with visitors. "If you are in the area this is one not to miss," noted someone with experience. "The course starts off very steadily but tightens up considerably as you go round. Relax afterwards and enjoy the excellent food." The lates six holes in particular are a real test and you'll do well to match the par of 70 even though, at just over 6000 yards, this isn't a course which is on the long side. The club offers snack and bar meal services and visitors are welcome except on weekends.
