Characteristics
Situated in the shadow of Lumley Castle and meandering along the River Wear, Chester-le-Street Golf Club offers a historic parkland experience. Designed by Open Champions Sandy Herd and Ted Ray, the course is largely flat but challenges golfers with mature woodland and large, undulating greens. It holds a royal connection, having been a favorite of King George VI. Unique views of the neighboring Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground add to the character, while the modern clubhouse provides a relaxing finish.
