Extreme Golf in the best sense

Played both the Wild Atlantic and Hacket course in the summer of 2022, both very special but the Wild Atlantic was like nothing I have played before, you head off into the dunes on the 1st and exit on the 18th. No two holes are alike, it's the complete links experience. There was one hole where you stand on an elaveted tee with the dunes towering above and the fairway stretching out below in the valley, I have played courses with a hole like this before but never have I seen 18 top class holes in the one track. It's a natural links on the edge of the world. Clubhouse, staff bar and food excellent but go for the golf,

At the end of Europe

...but still a sensation!
The journey is absolutely worth it!
Granten Links, on my next visit I want to play the new 9-hole Seaside holes!

Fully agree

After the flop with the Dooks course because of the impossible behavior of not playing through's and the arrogance, this was heaven on earth. A warm welcome and a beautiful landscape. Without having booked this extra, we had an hour of fog that appeared out of nowhere within 15 minutes. Playing golf by ear (the buggies drove off the green) was quite an outstanding experience. A dream even under these circumstances.

A must!

We can only agree with the reviews here. Wild Antlantic Dunes another highlight on our Wild Antlatic Way Tour. Get on our top list!! Super fairways, wonderful views in a secluded area.

Wild Atlantic Dunes - the best 18 out of 27

Under the above title, a course was created that is probably not only unbelievable for me. As you can see from the club's promotional video, playing on the pitch seems like playing on another planet.
Sure, every links course has its own character, but this corner of Belmullet has probably captivated me for the rest of my life.
But if you should, you have to play all 27 holes, only then do you have a real impression of links golf. I got to know the chairman of the club personally, incredibly friendly as all the club staff.
Since the area offers at least 5 further links courses within an hour's drive, it is clearly the number 1 destination in Ireland for me.

Just wow!

The weather forecast did not bode well and the wind at the first tee was not without. On the three came then still rain. But from the fifth, everything should be different. Although there was still wind and not too short, but the golf course with its sometimes "blind" holes, the constant ups and down, and the view was worth a trip alone. Although the score was subterranean, each hole was a single "wow". The fairways easily playable due to the short rain, the greens are very good and stable (if you can read the put line). The staff was nice and in the restaurant there are great dishes.
I highly recommend anyone who is in the area, play this links course!!!

Next stop New York

Far out in the west of Ireland - where Ireland is still very original - I played my second link course and made the same experiences with the wind there as before. Namely: The score is often random.
Nevertheless, it is a terrific experience to play through the dunes, to taste the salt air and to enjoy the direct view of the sea over the sandy beach. That was almost worth more to me than just playing.
The trappings in Carne are very sober, the people friendly, restaurant and pub-separated by a door-original. Daily menu (roasted lamb) excellent.
The club manager personally showed me T 1 and offered to play the "blue" course after completion of the 18 round for free, because this z. Zt. "Not in the best condition" is.
The tracks are all in the dunes and are - sorry - MADNESS! Curves, valleys, gorges etc.
Highlight for me was the 18th Par 5 and you think, with 3 you are easy on the green. But there is still a gigantic gorge on...
My linkscourse experiences summarized:
Another type of golf. Very nice, but I still like to play my parkland courses.

What a fantastic golf course

Our first links course on our trip to Ireland raises the bar very high. The journey alone Fantastic through peat bogs and past countless sheep. What an incredibly beautiful place with a breathtaking view. If you have brought back stress from home, after 18 holes in this place he has disappeared completely. Pure peace and relaxation. We ran the 18 holes. But quite demanding - it goes up and down. But the view from each hole makes up for the effort. There is no stress or pressure from other players here. On the contrary, you are accepted as if you have known each other forever. So definitely plan on your next trip to Ireland. In this context: A big compliment to Albrecht Golfreisen for the perfect realization of our trip through Ireland.

Absolutely recommendable

The longer journey is definitely worth it. Few people, a fluent game and lots of fun! Especially the backnine were the absolute highlight for us. Every track is surprising and the view is simply beautiful. The course is a bit difficult to play, but also forgives a lot of lost balls! The only complaint: unfortunately no electrocaddies.. who does not want to drive with the Buddie must go with the drawing car.. otherwise a successful day.. we will be back!

That is fun!

We came to Belmullet rather by chance and had not even planned to play the course at all. What a gigantic mistake that would have been! The old Hackett-Platz is doubtless left-golf from the finest. The coronation is hole 18 with gigantic waves, with which one hardly knows how many waves still come up to the seemingly so near and yet so far green. We were alone in the middle of the summer and could play our pace... just fantastic. The clubhouse is rather simple, but that did not bother us. Conclusion: Simply great!

Beautifully, despite rain and storm.

The square has been an experience. The long journey was worth it. Unfortunately it rained the whole time and it was stormy, but I enjoyed it. The views partly sea was beautiful. If one is necessarily play the course nearby. I would stay here again again.

Strong Place

On 01/09/2015 played 18 holes on the Hackett course, great experience, place in very good condition, very moved fairways, greens such as carpet, place a whole but very fair

Hammer place in the most beautiful lunar landscape of Ireland

We played the course on 15 July 2015 of our 8-day Ireland golf trip.
In my view it was the best place on the trip. This had several reasons:
- Topservice us very friendly service. We were allowed to play the additional 9-hole course free
- Something I've never seen in 18 holes. Tralee and Enniscrone are similar places. But not as nice and especially not on all 18 holes in the dunes
- It had very few people in the square, a few tourists

Be sure to also play 9 holes. From layout to it is even hotter than the 18-hole, even if it is not quite as well-kept.

A jewel in Ireland

Great course left

Long road access to Belmullet, which absolutely worth it. well maintained, adjusted left natural course between high sand dunes with fantastic outlook on white sand beaches and turquoise sea with suitable weather. golfing challenge, some blind proposals, absolutely recommended!

The long journey was rewarded

It was a fantastic day of golf, I will not forget.
Long tracks with sounds of the sea, this time not a three-minute rain, exhilarating vistas and the typical left-golf.
I could only repeat that.
