With a history spanning over a century, the course presents a mature layout divided into two distinct sections along the shores of Belfast Lough. The design is known for its quirkiness, featuring blind tee shots and a railway line that creates a formidable hazard on the opening holes. The signature 9th hole, "Plateau," offers unrivaled views across to Ailsa Craig and the Scottish coast. Precision is paramount throughout, especially on the testing par-4 18th, "Pat's Way Home," before players can retire to the clubhouse to admire the sweeping sea views.
