We played two rounds for the first time in 2007, when the new clubhouse was under construction. Everyone was annoyed that this course wasn't on the list on the last trip to Spain - but it was understandable - the distance from Malaga would have been too great to travel by car.
We deliberately wanted to go to Valencia in 2007 - the sailing race for the "ugly pot" led to this combination trip. The America's Cup was about to start. It was very impressive to see the funds invested by the participants, the organizer and the city - amazing. Even the manhole cover with the logo was not missing.
The notes tell us that the two laps on this "links course" were great fun for us, very good scores, hardly any wind and pleasant temperatures. Two of us were under, if only 1 and 2 strokes, but still. Playing here is demanding, a number of courageous shots are required for a good score. The course itself was very dry - typical links - but still in a "green" good condition, provided a lot of additional meters. The greens were sharp, hard, directional and fast.
The drought meant that the leader and I were asked to stop smoking. We could understand that well - the whole country is under nature protection. In addition, if there is a lack of water, it is very difficult to fight a fire.
The conditions weren't that great this time, temperatures were rather cool, at times there was a lot of wind. We didn't like the semi and the sand traps that much. The course can take this well, you can overlook these minor flaws, the location and the layout deliver so much that you become generous.
Again we had great joy and fun - not about the scores
Have used the clubhouse and the adjacent hotel, were very satisfied.
