Characteristics
Established in 1887 as Derbyshire’s oldest golf club, this course presents a fascinating paradox: located 1,100 feet above sea level in the Peak District, it plays remarkably like an inland links. The free-draining limestone soil ensures year-round playability, while the prevailing winds add a strategic layer to the par-69 layout. Holes 4, 5, and 6 are particularly noted for this links-style character. Despite its altitude near the spa town of Buxton, the terrain remains manageable for walking, offering sweeping vistas of the National Park.
