Characteristics

Perched high above the historic spa town of Bridge of Allan, this 9-hole course offers a unique journey back in time. Designed by the legendary Old Tom Morris in 1895, the layout proves that length isn't everything. It is a hilly, technical test featuring ancient stone walls, crossing fairways, and blind shots that demand precision over power. The opening hole is particularly famous: a daunting, steep uphill Par 3 requiring a carry over a stone dyke, often cited as one of the toughest openers in the country. Golfers are rewarded with magnificent panoramas of the Trossachs and the Forth Valley. After conquering this technical gem, the welcoming clubhouse provides the perfect spot to relax and admire the sweeping scenery of the Stirling area.
