Braintree Golf Club, founded in 1891, stands as one of the oldest clubs in Essex, though its current home in Stisted offers a distinctively mature parkland experience. Relocated in the early 1970s to the grounds of the historic Stisted Hall estate, the 18-hole course (Par 70) integrates seamlessly with the natural landscape. Golfers navigate through majestic trees and challenging layouts, with the River Blackwater meandering alongside the back nine, adding both beauty and tactical difficulty. The modern clubhouse, known as "The 19th Hole," features a patio with panoramic views over the course, providing a perfect setting for post-round relaxation alongside comprehensive practice facilities.
