Thought this was a great course, tricky in spots! Great welcome from all the staff …. Food was plentiful and great service with spectacular views of lough Ree.. couldn’t fault it. Will be back!

Hilly course with Tricky tracks

Athlone Golf Club is a very well-kept place. Extremely hilly, wear is not a good idea! The tracks are very varied, some tracks are very tricky! Above all train 13...
From many railways you have a great view of the surroundings and the adjacent lake.
The greens are hilly, but good to play.
Only the clubhouse is a bit basic and does not necessarily invites you to linger! A seemingly old club where nothing was done.
The staff, both in the pro shop as well as the place staff extremely friendly and helpful!

The course runs over the small hill on the southwestern shore of Lough Ree. This always offers beautiful views of the various bays of the lake. The fairways are well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Hole 13 is particularly exciting! The reception was very attentive as guests, the clubhouse with its bar offered a nice conclusion to the Round.
