The first 9 holes of Ancient Sands Golf Club were built in 2017 according to the design of Karl Litten. A further 9 holes were added at the end of 2024. Ancient Sands now offers an 18-hole championship golf course (par 73) and a state-of-the-art 3-hole golf academy with a complete practice facility.

The relatively long course measures 6,263 m from the 2nd men's tee (yellow), is par 73, and plays correspondingly long in relatively strong winds.
The first nine holes are unremarkable, although the 2nd hole stands out as a par 6 (!) measuring 570 meters. The back nine offer more excitement, as several water hazards need to be negotiated.
The course is well maintained, the fairways are excellent, the greens are relatively fast, the bunkers are hard but manageable!
The distances between holes are very long, especially from green 9 to tee 10.

In August, I had the pleasure of playing all 18 holes of this course – and I have to say: Despite the high temperatures, the course was in top condition. The fairways were lush green, the greens fast but fair, and the bunkers were also perfectly prepared. The friendly service was particularly pleasant – from the reception in the clubhouse to the assistance on the course, you feel welcome here.
I will definitely come back to play another round.
The only small drawback is that the driving range is neither covered nor is there any opportunity to cool off in the shade or with some refreshment on hot days – which would be a real plus, especially in summer.

Beautiful 9-hole course with challenging water hazards. The course was very clean and in immaculate condition. The greens are fast and well-modeled. The three additional holes are not worth it, they are flat, wide and boring. I recommend checking the wind forecast before booking a tee time. There is construction going on at the resort, but it doesn't affect your game. The staff are very friendly and helpful. After the game you can have a cool drink on the terrace. Conclusion: A recommended alternative for a 9-hole round!!! I will definitely be back next year.
