The golf course was designed in the early 1970' s by the 3 times Open champion Henry Cotton (1934,1937 & 1948 ). Palacerigg Golf Club was formed in 1975.

Palacerigg Golf Club was founded in 1975 and provides a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere for golfers who enjoy both the competition and social aspects of the game. With competitions throughout the year on the 18 hole Golf course and an active social calendar, Palacerigg provide s for members and visitors alike.
