Surrounded by the green mountains of northern Spain, Bilbao welcomes you as a creative metropolis between history and a desire for the future. The world-famous Guggenheim Museum with its shimmering titanium facade is emblematic of this change: where shipyards once dominated, Frank O. Gehry's architectural masterpiece now houses one of the world's most significant collections of contemporary art.

The historic heart of Bilbao beats in the alleys of the Old Town, where authentic restaurants tempt you with pintxos, the Basque version of tapas. Use the time before departure for further exploration.

The coastal town of La Rochelle can be compared to the complex aromas of a cognac – here maturity, tradition, and exclusivity seem to combine. Uncover the secrets of brandy production on your tours. It is dreamlike to walk from the quays of the Vieux Port through small cobbled streets and lively squares into the Old Town accented by picturesque half-timbered houses.

Surrounded by the wine-growing regions of the Médoc lies Bordeaux, which is as full of character as the wine of this region. The historic cityscape with its charming houses is contrasted by modern architecture: The Cité du Vin building sets a lively accent here with its bold curves. Keep an eye out for the Maison de Bordeaux, built by Rem Koolhaas on a hill above the city.

Towering fortress walls and a breathtaking coastal landscape: St-Malo is a true jewel on Brittany's Emerald Coast. The city center with its narrow alleys is one of France's most famous postcard motifs. From the battlements of the well-preserved city wall, the gaze wanders over the bay, which is exposed at low tide and reveals the impressive power of the tides with a tidal range of up to 12 m.

The charming Honfleur, a port city at the mouth of the Seine, lies in the Calvados department. The picturesque little town enchants with its narrow alleys, half-timbered houses, and the Sainte Catherine church. In the 19th century, the Impressionists discovered the town: famous painters like Monet and Cézanne found inspiration in the picturesque harbor. Today, Honfleur and the Musée Eugène Boudin are a must for art lovers.

Let the evening fade away in the atmospheric setting of Antwerp, as the ship stays here overnight.

On the banks of the Scheldt, Antwerp unfolds as one of Belgium's liveliest port and art cities. Even today, the magnificent guild houses on the Grote Markt and the imposing train station bear witness to the wealth of bygone times. Peter Paul Rubens worked here in the 17th century – his impressive work can be admired in his former home as well as in the Gothic Cathedral of Our Lady.
