Characteristics
Rolling dune landscapes with variable wind strength and sparse vegetation; obstacles of stone shards, which seems atypical for East Westphalia, but characterizes the Paderborner plateau and the Haxterhöhe Links Course. Utilizing traditional dune landscapes plus the traits of the Paderborner South Highlands, combined with state of the art greens-keeping, all create incredibly unique gameplay.
Players can expect only six trees on the entire course while circumnavigating 121 links-style bunkers in efforts to rest their ball on the firm greens. -Links Golf!

When we played, the wind typical of the year was pretty strong again. Due to the altitude, the wind comes into its own.
But that's emotionally part of a links course.
And the course has everything that belongs to a links course.
The condition of the fairways was a pity. There's just too much clover growing here and it's quite tall.
The layout and the views are very nice though.
The signage is definitely to be criticized. We were first at the university sports facilities, but there are only driving range and short course. So build it back together and drive to the Haxterhöhe. However, there is no range there.

That was the first links course we ever played. It was a lot of fun and the many bunkers on the way to the green were a special challenge for the mind.
Everything was very well cared for, and it was also demanding. When I heard the word university I would not have thought of a SOOO well-kept and beautifully landscaped place!
Further advantages:

+ you got a birdie book that really helped
+ good signage on the square,
+ a really very open and friendly cooperation,
