A day at Ullna

We played this course two times some years ago before the reconstruction. The course has now been updated but not as much as claimed and advertised. Although it is very nice course to play, with nice quick greens and some interesting challenges, it is definitively not worth the money considering that other nearby golf Clubs are much similar and less expensive.

Played this course three times and every round is pure joy but also a great test, you need a strategic skill to make the holes easy. Green areas are magic and in perfect condition (June 2013). Great restaurant.

Everything has been said about the place. Like the green fee, it is awesome and, in my opinion, the most expensive and most beautiful place in Sweden. The clubhouse and the buildings around the course don't stand up to comparison with Bro Hof in any way, but this is the nicer place in terms of space and play. The only drawback:
The noise from the freeway running past the square was a bit disturbing given the really great backdrop.

Despite the rainy weather, we were able to enjoy the excellent layout of this course. Arrow-fast, undulating greens and wonderfully manicured fairways characterize this course. Water hazards and greens defended by bunkers require precise play. Lunch was included. Very friendly staff both in the shop and in the restaurants. What we missed was the driving range.

I have played over 650 golf courses, Ullna is a world class design, care and service space. The course stretches impressively along the lake and leads through beautiful parkland railways.
This place is worth every penny and next to Bro Hof Slott the best place in Stockholm!
Ullna is a gift to us golfers ... !!!

On June 23,2018, the day after the Midsommar Festival, we played this course; If there are only a few players on the pitch on the 22nd of June, only a few Swedes will be able to play golf at noon on the following day of the festival. So we had this place practically just for us.
Holes 1-9 are much more difficult and ball bearing than holes 10-18.
The view of the lake is always present; on the holes 11-13 the highway is very close and well audible.
Based on the bunkers, be it on the fairways or in front of the greens, you can see immediately that Jack Nicklaus was at work here.
The fairways are in a great condition, fine grass, sandy soil. The greens are also very well maintained and very consistent. Sometimes the greens are heavily undulating, even massive (eg L18).
If you are in Stockholm, you should definitely play this place.

A beautiful golf course, redesigned by Jack Nicklaus. The Schweirigkeit here is not the length, but the water and the strategic challenge. Many holes have to put his tee shot and the layup at the right length and on the right side of the fairway, otherwise clever placed trees a difficult alluding green. The Birdiebook is therefore best friend. A really interesting place, but due to the many water should stock up before the round again with enough balls.
Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens are a dream and just perfect. Especially the greens are fast (> 10 stimp), directional stability and waved. Overall, a parkland course that often runs along a lake, allowing breathtaking views of the Swedish naturalist repeatedly. The first 6 holes, incl. The Signature Holes (hole 3, The Icon) are directly a dream start. Perhaps the best start 6 holes I have ever played and the Signature hole is one of the best par 3 I know. The middle hole 6 are then also nice for my taste, but a little artificially created and more domestically. For the last 6 are again an absolute dream entlnag the lake. Especially the drive at the 17 out of the lake, across the lake to a narrow fairway between trees is really challenging.
For me together with Brohoff Slot Stadium Course and Royal Drottningholm not only one of the TOP3 places in Stockholm / Sweden, but certainly also among the 5 best places I've ever played. Highly recommended. Green fee is expensive (about 140EUR), but still gerechtferitgt due to the breathtaking place for me.

Not cheap (about CHF 170, -) but worth every single cent. Beautiful place with gorgeous bunkers, velvety Fairwys and sensational greens. Back 9 are all along the lake where the wind can then play an influence. Finally, good super beautiful wardrobe that invites showers. As everywhere very friendly staff. A MUST.
