The Sanctuary Golf Course, located on Sanibel Island, was designed by the nationally acclaimed golf course architect Arthur Hills, who describes the course as "my island masterpiece" and the property as "elegant, exquisite, and rare." I have played the Sanctuary course many times over the past few years and I will say it is one of the most beautiful courses in all of America. The course is challenging and truly brings out the beauty of Southern Florida. The wildlife is unmatched. Bring extra golf balls as you will need them..

With luck we had received 4 Upper Austrians a starting place in this elite golf club.
Even the imposing clubhouse and the facilities in the house are noble and elitist, perhaps a bit snobbish??
Anyway, the place has it all. Sensational care of the whole plant, gorgeous fairways sensational, heavily undulating and fast greens.
The place is not extremely long, from the farthest tee "blue" about 6,000 m long, we played from the 2nd tee "white", with a length of 5,700 m, however, very difficult!
The site has quite taken us through the wringer, but it was a sensational day.
Most holes for me were the 6, a par 5,8, a par 4 and 12, a par 3 with a length of 145 m, where watching us while putting a Aligator next to the green.
However here the railways should be emphasized already difficult because actually all fairways are very nice!!

We wanted to get to know these "private investment" once. The location and care of the place (where we got to see some of it) is fantastic. The reception by the caddy master was extremely friendly and accommodating. He referred us for a tee time at the head pro. His question, where we live, we answered Cape Coral. Unfortunately was then given to us gently but firmly to understand that this was a "private investment" and only there were beautiful golf courses in Cape Coral. Too bad we had actually hoped that one sometimes makes an exception. The club is however probably too elitist. Five stars plus for landscape, space and ambience, but only one star for the lack of hospitality.
