Golf in the jungle

Fantastic layout in one of the oldest jungle on earth.
The course is super well kept, the surroundings are astonishing.
No bunkers, but if you are stubborn it is fully possible to land in the beach facing Thailand.
If you have but a minimum interest of wildlife, this is the golf course.
Birds, a lot of them, at least two spieces of hornbills, monkies - yes, lizards - some monitors. Snakes - not spotted (yet).
Staff, very friendly.
First time we played, the queen of Malaysia was there with entorage and half of the goverement, Mr Najib:( included was dining.
To sum it up, don't miss this golf course!

Having spent the winter months in Langkawi I played the Datai several times. The course is beautifully presented and always in perfect condition. Buggies with ice boxes etc and caddy if you pay extra. Ernie removed all the bunkers so in some ways it is easy but there are often strange hollows in front of the greens which make it difficult to get near the pin.
There are various ways of getting a reasonable price for the green fee. The Clubhouse is well equipped as beautiful and a harder test.

We drive with a group to "The Els Club Teluk Datai". We are welcomed friendly and the shop is shown to us. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. Despite high expectations, we are very impressed. The place is great. The lanes towards the water are very impressive. Although the course is not that heavy and there are no bunkers, the score is high.

We have this wonderful place beginning in February 2017 played four times and are simply amazed. Its restaurant offers a great view of track 18 and 9 to the sea. The Chenin Blanc from Ernie Els tastes there - well chilled - quite wonderful. The food is very low, however, convenience (frozen). The Twilight fare from 15 hours for 18 holes with buggy, free range and free balls, water, Bag-day costs Mon-Thu only 353 ringgit and is a "bargain" (!).
