Golf in the jungle

Fantastic layout in one of the oldest jungle on earth.

The course is super well kept, the surroundings are astonishing.
No bunkers, but if you are stubborn it is fully possible to land in the beach facing Thailand.
If you have but a minimum interest of wildlife, this is the golf course.
Birds, a lot of them, at least two spieces of hornbills, monkies - yes, lizards - some monitors. Snakes - not spotted (yet).

Staff, very friendly.

First time we played, the queen of Malaysia was there with entorage and half of the goverement, Mr Najib:( included was dining.

To sum it up, don't miss this golf course!

Beautiful course

Having spent the winter months in Langkawi I played the Datai several times. The course is beautifully presented and always in perfect condition. Buggies with ice boxes etc and caddy if you pay extra. Ernie removed all the bunkers so in some ways it is easy but there are often strange hollows in front of the greens which make it difficult to get near the pin.
There are various ways of getting a reasonable price for the green fee. The Clubhouse is well equipped as beautiful and a harder test.

Best Place

Golfer heart what more do you want.
Few places get five stars from me. This place deserves it.
The service is friendly, the layout and maintenance of the best.
Although definitely play in the upper price range - it's worth it.

Great place in the rainforest

A very nice and well-kept place in the rainforest with fast greens but without a bunker. At first it looks easy to play, but it is not. Very friendly welcome and good service. Highly recommended

The paradise

We drive with a group to "The Els Club Teluk Datai". We are welcomed friendly and the shop is shown to us. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. Despite high expectations, we are very impressed. The place is great. The lanes towards the water are very impressive. Although the course is not that heavy and there are no bunkers, the score is high.
The service in the restaurant was like that, they were always mixed up with the bill.
Despite high green fee a top recommendation.

Super nice facility

We were allowed to play the course mid-March 2018 three times in 4 days. Overall, great impression. Sporty but not too heavy. Extremely beautiful landscape, in the middle of the rainforest and partly by the sea. In addition, nice clubhouse and great service. You can not expect more, especially since the place in the Twighlight tariff with 90 € incl. Cart etc. is worth every euro.

Top spot with promotional rate

We have this wonderful place beginning in February 2017 played four times and are simply amazed. Width, very well-kept fairways with impressive trees and always fair for the golfer, what frustration free vacation Golf guaranteed. The views to the sea and the islands and on the imposing mountains with dense rainforest are unique. Vibrant wildlife all around: monkeys, eagles, lizards, squirrles... gorgeous. The greens were not fast but on track. Exceptionally friendly service in the pro shop, the caddy master, in loose and in particular on the unique club terrace. Its restaurant offers a great view of track 18 and 9 to the sea. The Chenin Blanc from Ernie Els tastes there - well chilled - quite wonderful. The food is very low, however, convenience (frozen). The Twilight fare from 15 hours for 18 holes with buggy, free range and free balls, water, Bag-day costs Mon-Thu only 353 ringgit and is a "bargain" (!).

Beautiful place in the rainforest

A very nice place, where he is sooo very great again not as my previously gereihter reviewer writes because he has not yet played American courts!

Anyway, all the tracks are nicely laid out, sometimes very tricky with crossing water obstacles - track 8, strong doglegs - track 16, cracking par 3s on the sea, etc., etc.

Place very well maintained, greens not too fast, not particularly strong undulated.

On the whole a beautiful place, on a 10-part table would be the score 8 to max. 9 reasonable.

Proshop and restaurant very friendly.

Outstanding! Six ***

This place is simply outstanding ... !!!
Nestled between the sea and the jungle is the dream of every golfer! Well in 2014 named the best 'new' golf course in the world, it fulfills every wish.
Even the typical British locker room, the hit. You get 'your' cabinet, towel etc. awaits. Your name badge infected naturally outside. So you know where they are and who will always, somehow virtual accompany, who Locker no. 1 is supplied with a glass door. Ernie Els' equipment is in there, neatly prepared for his round - it only strikes that it equals around the corner actually waiting.
Sometimes you want to happen every few months...
Outside of the generous Lodge await the obligatory in Asia Carts. (Caddie is not required, but can be booked) The carts have filled icebox, additional towel and Einbaunavi in iPad-size (!). The pin positions are of course on a daily basis. During your round it will be possible for you to order here over drinks on the course and dinner after the round.
Take advantage of the driving range, you can use the clean draped the pyramid balls available. Now you hit the first time in the jungle surrounding them from a hill, inside. Target points with details in yard and meter are good and can be found in all lengths up to 200m.
The putting green next to the tee 1 is perfect (as on all other holes). Sure, of course!
Lanes 1,9 and 18 lead jetted to / from the lodge. The tracks are excellent. Not so difficult, also good for higher hand Caps (min. 45 required) and forgiving. Below the week the place is recorded rather low, so for all stress freedom should be guaranteed.
THE dream begins then at the latest web 5. A par 3 that is leaked directly to the sea. what a view. The whole thing is repeated on 7.16 and 17. There is then the only bunker of the square, the water obstacle is simultaneously at high tide. Cross goes on the par 3 over it.
Almost even more impressed but have me the paths that go into the jungle. 10,11 and 12 are already particularly. After a long tee shot on the 12th it goes down the slope, accompanied by all the sounds of the forest as a green impenetrable big stadium in, on the Green.
They have not had the impression that they are all the time observed? Well, then get times your packed lunch out... A number affiger fans will quickly collect your cart. :-) And they will accompany all the time when you invite them.
After a great par 5 finish on the 18th they come back to the Lodge. Here are waiting the service staff with soft drink and jasmine soaked Erfrinschungstücher on you. The staff takes care of your material. Please enjoy Ernie Els good drops under large ceiling fans. Phenomenal!
I was accidentally landed there in the region. But one thing I know for sure. I'll never give up the game of golf, before I did not play this course again. Six stars!
