Outstanding golf courses on the Desaru Coast!

At the end of January/beginning of February 2024, we played the Ocean course six times (with 3 9-holes to be combined: Ocean, Lakes and Ridge) and the 18-hole Valley course once. Unfortunately we caught the last rainy days of the monsoon season, but from February it was wonderfully sunny, warm and dry. During the first rounds, some fairways were not yet passable with carts and the sand from the bunkers was washed away by the torrential rain. The greens, however, were super fast and flawless. The weather is best for golf from mid-February to mid-October. As soon as it stayed dry, all the fairways were great! The greens are large, not easy to read and very fast. There are 4 tee boxes and if there is wind from the sea, if you are a mid-handicapper you should be content with the copper tees instead of the silver tees. The fairways are very wide and there are no trees in the way. To do this, you have to playfully avoid bunkers and ponds. The carts have GPS and the service team is extremely friendly and helpful. We happily remember Azman, Anas, Khairul, Hakim and others. Golf bags can be stored in the clubhouse, there are water dispensers (take your own bottle to fill), the washrooms and changing rooms are modern, sparkling clean and well maintained. The pro shop at Ocean is a little larger and well stocked. Tip: you should pay attention to the respective seasonal promotions; It is worth it. Until the end of January, the second player in a two-person flight only paid 50% of the green fee. There was an attractive discount for seniors aged 55 and over, which we took advantage of. You can also watch Vijay Diva. ask about possible Twilight tariffs. We paid 55-60 euros per round each with cart. That was great! From my personal point of view, the Valley course tops the Ocean course in terms of landscape and golfing challenges (lots of bunkers and elevated greens).
The greenkeepers do a remarkable job on both courses and the lanes are alternately closed for maintenance work. The effort involved in greenkeeping is considerable and pays off for the golfers. There's nothing to complain about here. I find it - like the service - phenomenal! Monitor lizards, kingfisher birds, hornbills, otters and monkeys can also be observed in these tropical showplaces. We loved playing there and would love to come back.

A very nice facility on the Desaru Coast

We played 6 rounds on the Ocean and one on the Valley Course. The Valley Course was under repair, but is considerably more interesting than the other 27 holes. He is e.g. T. narrower, has greatly increased greens and is equipped with 177 bunkers. The 27 holes on the Ocean Course mostly have wide fairways and very fast greens that are difficult to read. The maintenance condition is consistently good. The service at the two places is very good and they are very customer-friendly. There is also a free shuttle service from the Ocean Course to the surrounding hotels.
