Characteristics

Terras da Comporta is divided into the Torre area, located in the municipality of Alcácer do Sal, which will have its own golf course (a collaboration between José Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia), and the Dunas area, in the municipality of Grândola. Here we have the already completed Links Course, which was designed by the renowned architect David McLay-Kidd. The fairways run through beautiful pine forests not far from the fantastic Atlantic coast.

Will be one of the better one.

Played this course in Nov 2023 and a very pretty design.
Greens are true and fast, the fairways still need a year or so to settle as all is very new.
Friendly staff and good facilities.
Price of 175€ is on the high side, but includes a buggy and Driving range balls (which has a value of 50€ or so).

Its not do easy to find, hope they will put up some signs soon

Quite modest, but much too expensive

For €200, I think you can expect a top-notch course that offers a certain something both in terms of sport and quality. That's definitely not the case here.

Dunas is easy to play, no obstacles, no subtleties, no memorable holes. It simply lacks athletic challenge, and it takes a very strong miss to lose a ball here. Anyone who doesn't play their hand here is having a bad day.

The fairways are cut TOO short (pre-green style), the semi-rough grass is 5 cm higher and quite fine, and after that comes the sand. Each fairway is bordered by a strip of sand on the left and right along its entire length. However, the fairways are wide enough that the sand wedge is rarely needed.

The course could be covered on foot without breaking a sweat, but you're not allowed to, "because the clientele you're aiming for might be bothered by it." Sports are not permitted here. Instead, the 90-degree rule applies in the cart: in-out-in-out.

If you want something fancy, then I don't understand the 19th Hole. A very modest culinary establishment. Menu: sandwich, burger, chicken wings, or iceberg lettuce—that's it. But all at quite exorbitant prices!!!
I simply don't understand why there isn't a decent restaurant there...
...but in the village there is a lovely beach restaurant with great fresh fish from the charcoal grill.

Conclusion: no risk of repetition because it's too boring.

So many awards rightly so

Usually, people travel to Scotland or Ireland to play links courses. In the Lisbon area, or in Portugal in general, this golf course is an exception. Beautifully integrated into the landscape, varied holes and true greens are responsible for its top rating. From the caddy master to check-in to the starter, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Comparing the course with other links courses is always difficult, but in one respect this course definitely has the edge: the price-performance ratio is unbeatable at currently €200 including cart! Especially since the top Scottish and Irish links courses are now commanding exorbitant prices (e.g. over €500 at Kingsbarns). Next year a second course will open in the immediate vicinity, and then there will probably be two good reasons for a detour to this area.
