Experience golf in Scotland with Old Tom

A nice and truly old public course built by Old Tom Morris in 1890. A classic links course (9 out - 9 in), which, however, does not run openly along the lake, but is inserted slightly inland into the marshland and pastureland, except for hole 12, which runs parallel to the sea. Not a spectacular course, but not easy to play either, as there are well-placed bunkers and dunes. A watercourse crosses several holes. Strategy is the order of the day. Nice details are the ball washers painted in national colors and old XXL ball fishing rods on the bridges by the watercourse. The overall condition of the golf course was good and the staff from the ProShop and the catering area were very friendly and helpful. Extra tip: Combine the round of golf with a whiskey tasting near Tain at “The Glenmorangie Distillery”. 8.2023

Fun place with old Tom Morris roots

In mid-April we were allowed to play this beautiful course. Sensationally cheap £35 a head on Easter Sunday at 2pm. A really nice pro welcomed us and also explained some details of the course.
The journey was worthwhile just for the “Dolly Parton” 11. Some tracks were a bit monotonous, but overall this did not detract from the place. Maybe it just seems that way to me, since the rough at the beginning of the season was more than humane.

Links pure golf

One of the left classic from Old Tom Morris. In contrast to the Dornoch opposite, you can play with the locals here at a fair price. Recommendation.
