Golf in the heart of Dubai

Founded in 1892, the golf club impresses with its location in the heart of the vibrant metropolis of Durban. The venerable clubhouse is a beautiful relic from a bygone era, though not particularly well-maintained. The entire golf course is surrounded by the horse racing track, whose dimensions are equally impressive.
The course layout is somewhat less impressive. The completely flat course lacks almost all shade-providing vegetation. The holes are all very similar, offering little visual variety. Small streams and occasional water hazards do provide some welcome breaks in the monotony. Unfortunately, we found the course to be in poor condition.
With the senior discount (60+), we played Royal Durban as a couple for the equivalent of 40 Swiss francs, which is absolutely fair value for money. So, if you're in the area and fancy a round of golf, it's definitely worth playing the course.
