A great course for beginners and leisure golfers

Porto Carras golf course was a great experience. Although there are some patches on a few of the greens, the fairways are in good condition and the course has a great layout which is easy to walk or use the buggy's provided. Tee times are well spaced so for novice golfers there was no feeling of having to rush shots. Most fairways offer a good chance to remain of the fluffy stuff and the greens were well maintained and flat. Staff were most helpful and the low green fees reflect the fact that the course should be considered a leisure or holiday course rather than one of championship standard. Even so the stunning surrounding scenery and pretty water hazards all combined to provide a most enjoyable golfing experience.

Awful greens

Had a free green fee voucher as part of our hotel booking so gave this course a try. It is a well laid out course, which would be fantastic if it was better maintained. Greens are non existent with patches of rough grass scatteted here and there. Putting on a mixture of gravel and grass was no fun. Holes are not marked so navigating the course was a challenge. Fairways are ok, but be prepared to play through the sprinklers. Unless you're desperate for a round of golf then I would give this course a miss. Definitely not worth the 55/60 Euro green fees. On the postive side, the staff at the club house were all very friendly.

Here the golf world is still in order

We were there in May and got to know the course during a tournament. The course has made great progress. If you like to play golf on holiday every now and then and don't have too high expectations, this is the place for you
