Great Place!

Pollok Golf Club may not appear in any of the major rankings of Scotland's most beautiful golf courses, and from the first tee, the layout doesn't look particularly spectacular. However, the course reveals itself to be a superbly maintained masterpiece by the legendary Alister MacKenzie from 1924, fully justifying the hefty green fee of £100. The holes are very varied and generously integrated into the wonderful parkland. A majestic manor house, situated within the park, comes into view several times, and a small river meanders picturesquely along one of the out-of-bounds areas. While small canals on the course can sometimes make play more challenging, and the surrounding roads provide a slight background hum, overall it's a course offering great golfing pleasure, and all this in a very convenient location near the town. Highly recommended!
