Nice course in good condition. Very good greens although cups were in poor condition on some holes. Flat with little in the way of hazards. When we played (lunchtime on Sunday) it was very slow - we had a fourball in front that lost two holes on the group in front of them and didn't call us through, even when we caught them up as they were teeing off! Not the courses fault I guess. The course is at the end of the runway for Malaga airport and aircraft are constantly taking off and landing - very loud on takeoff - although it gave us something to watch whilst we waited for the fourball to clear the greens. We wouldn't play here again at the weekend but would maybe chance it during the week.

Played course one week following the Open de Andalucio de Golf, on the European Tour, so the course was in great shape. Greens excellant and receptive, fairways beautiful.
Lovely old traditional course.
Play middle tees (yellow) for a shortish but enjoyable experience.
Buggies a bit dated. Playing partner's broke down twice.
Pace slow, because many walk.

I played the course in May 2023. The condition of the course has improved somewhat (the fairways are well maintained) except for two greens which have dried up but appear to be renewed soon, all are relatively fast and true to the track. The course is not very difficult to play on calm days as it has wide fairways. However, the game can be very demanding on windy days and these wide fairways are then very helpful and also absolutely necessary. It may be that you sometimes have to take up to 3-4 clubs more or less. You get used to the noise of the planes taking off relatively quickly, it certainly doesn't distract from the game of golf.
All in all, the course is relatively fair and it's fun to play. I can definitely recommend the place to anyone who can handle the wind well and doesn't mind the short-term noise.

When the idea of one of the oldest golf courses (or even the oldest?) Of the Costa del Sol, which was also opened with the assistance and the blessing of the Queen to play, hopped the heart of golf. But unfortunately the reality is very disappointing. One finds neither royal splendor nor the presumed grandeur of a royal parkland or - because of the immediate proximity to the sea - left courses before.
Instead, many completely flat, straight and freewheel-shaped holes line up, which are felt to be patched together from 50 different grass species. Likewise, there are always large sandy areas in the fairways, where it is not clear whether they represent part of the course design or are merely part of the poor overall care of the place.
Amazing, however - very in contrast to the otherwise moderate overall impression of the place - in what a good condition the greens present (March 2018). Mowed tip-top, fairly fast, faithful, subtly undulating and therefore extremely challenging to play.
On windy days, the place by its complete openness and immediate proximity to the beach is certainly a real challenge (who likes it ...).
The "club house" is part of the associated hotel and unspectacular as the golf course itself. The green fee moves in the middle of the clubs on the Costa. The space definitely does not give more. And at the permanent aircraft noise (4-5 minute approach rhythm in estimated 50m altitude) you should not bother!
Conclusion: it is certainly not a mistake to play a round in the Parador de Málaga Golf. But it is by no means a highlight. Unless: one is "planpotter".

We have been playing in Andalusia for many years. We met rarely fairways like today - in September. There were a few exceptions. The greens were also excellent for local conditions.
Boring? Mostly because it is simply flat. We felt it rather than difficult, because long with extremely well sheltered greens.
The pace was rather slow, but it was just Sunday and had lots of people on the pitch.
The lady at the Caddymaster was not exactly a sunshine, what? The green fee as a hotel guest was very attractive (€ 74.- for 2 persons including trolley). Buggy? Can, but must not be at all. Without a trolley, we certainly had the better rhythm today, as the waiting times were limited.
As far as air noise is concerned. Yes, the fliers land / start effectively directly above the heads of the golfers. Stronger than in Puntiro or Son Gual (both Mallorca) we did not. Is just individual... I like the fliers more than they disturb.
