OK

Nice course in good condition. Very good greens although cups were in poor condition on some holes. Flat with little in the way of hazards. When we played (lunchtime on Sunday) it was very slow - we had a fourball in front that lost two holes on the group in front of them and didn't call us through, even when we caught them up as they were teeing off! Not the courses fault I guess. The course is at the end of the runway for Malaga airport and aircraft are constantly taking off and landing - very loud on takeoff - although it gave us something to watch whilst we waited for the fourball to clear the greens. We wouldn't play here again at the weekend but would maybe chance it during the week.

Good Test for 9 Handicapper

Played course one week following the Open de Andalucio de Golf, on the European Tour, so the course was in great shape. Greens excellant and receptive, fairways beautiful.
Lovely old traditional course.
Play middle tees (yellow) for a shortish but enjoyable experience.
Buggies a bit dated. Playing partner's broke down twice.
Pace slow, because many walk.

Boring and clearly showing its age

Unfortunately, the place is rather boring, poorly maintained, not pretty and everything is clearly showing its age. In addition, a plane takes off and flies over you every 2 minutes. I actually didn't remember any holes 1 hour after the round. I think that says a lot about the fascination of the place. Only the staff is friendly.

Fair on calm days, challenging on windy days.

I played the course in May 2023. The condition of the course has improved somewhat (the fairways are well maintained) except for two greens which have dried up but appear to be renewed soon, all are relatively fast and true to the track. The course is not very difficult to play on calm days as it has wide fairways. However, the game can be very demanding on windy days and these wide fairways are then very helpful and also absolutely necessary. It may be that you sometimes have to take up to 3-4 clubs more or less. You get used to the noise of the planes taking off relatively quickly, it certainly doesn't distract from the game of golf.

All in all, the course is relatively fair and it's fun to play. I can definitely recommend the place to anyone who can handle the wind well and doesn't mind the short-term noise.

Average

Unfortunately, I can sign the comment and the rating of Spaingolfer from March 27,2018 immediately. It has changed so far (28.12.2018) nothing. That's why only three stars.

No "royal" claim

When the idea of one of the oldest golf courses (or even the oldest?) Of the Costa del Sol, which was also opened with the assistance and the blessing of the Queen to play, hopped the heart of golf. But unfortunately the reality is very disappointing. One finds neither royal splendor nor the presumed grandeur of a royal parkland or - because of the immediate proximity to the sea - left courses before.
Instead, many completely flat, straight and freewheel-shaped holes line up, which are felt to be patched together from 50 different grass species. Likewise, there are always large sandy areas in the fairways, where it is not clear whether they represent part of the course design or are merely part of the poor overall care of the place.
Amazing, however - very in contrast to the otherwise moderate overall impression of the place - in what a good condition the greens present (March 2018). Mowed tip-top, fairly fast, faithful, subtly undulating and therefore extremely challenging to play.
On windy days, the place by its complete openness and immediate proximity to the beach is certainly a real challenge (who likes it ...).
The "club house" is part of the associated hotel and unspectacular as the golf course itself. The green fee moves in the middle of the clubs on the Costa. The space definitely does not give more. And at the permanent aircraft noise (4-5 minute approach rhythm in estimated 50m altitude) you should not bother!
Conclusion: it is certainly not a mistake to play a round in the Parador de Málaga Golf. But it is by no means a highlight. Unless: one is "planpotter".

Well-kept, not too demanding place

Not very challenging, by rail. But well maintained, fast greens. At the noise of the flight you get. Some holes with sea view. Driving range Balls expensive with 5 €, space also costs 63 € a week (for hotel guests 30 €). Overall however a nice facility without high difficulty.

Times a different review

Some of the reviewers in front of me write about lack of quality and a rather boring place. We (Hcp 13 and 18) have experienced this at least differently today. We have been playing in Andalusia for many years. We met rarely fairways like today - in September. There were a few exceptions. The greens were also excellent for local conditions.

Boring? Mostly because it is simply flat. We felt it rather than difficult, because long with extremely well sheltered greens.

The pace was rather slow, but it was just Sunday and had lots of people on the pitch.

The lady at the Caddymaster was not exactly a sunshine, what? The green fee as a hotel guest was very attractive (€ 74.- for 2 persons including trolley). Buggy? Can, but must not be at all. Without a trolley, we certainly had the better rhythm today, as the waiting times were limited.

As far as air noise is concerned. Yes, the fliers land / start effectively directly above the heads of the golfers. Stronger than in Puntiro or Son Gual (both Mallorca) we did not. Is just individual... I like the fliers more than they disturb.

Conclusion: Again a round here? Yes gladly.

Boring place with a lot of aircraft noise

The place was in a terrible state
- Discounts with many holes and often with hills
- Fairways with many bald spots.
- The lady at the pro shop was overwhelmed our group to collect properly.
- After confirming the tee time lacked both our Flights on the entry list
- The layout is boring and only the wind makes it exciting
- Every 2-3 minutes lands a flyer across the square at the nearby airfield and it stinks of exhaust gases. Landet times do not include a flyer to the nearby motorway
- Only the greens were pretty fast and faithful, but also sometimes with holes
- Green fee may be convenient, but still I would rather have it saved completely

Beautiful location near the sea

Were there (He HCP -5, -18 you) As we were in June 2016 2 years ago already there, we found again great fairways and greens. If you play when you're in the area. Buggy not necessary.

Solala / fast before or after the flight

Being close to the airport played upon his arrival in January 16 is again. Is often windy, layout solala. Care and friendliness could be better in general. Conveniently with buggy, fairways, greens and tee boxes ok.

To play nice

We (my wife and I Hcp 18 Hcp 5) were mid-August on the spot.

The place was very nice. The fairways and greens are well maintained. All in all a good price - performance ratio.

Beautiful well-kept place

Very nice, but simply place without large claims. Very suitable for beginners with a high handicap. Little water or bunker obstacles. There is an 18 hole Old Course and a 9-hole links course. We enjoyed the Old Course liked (hcp hcp 16.8 and 37). 118 euros for two people in December. We would play it again, taking off and landing planes did not bother us directly over the place.

Not a tourist place but not without charm

I have played the course 2 x in January 2010. I flew to Malage Saturday morning, stayed one night at the hotel and Sundays flown back to Germany. Since the plant is located on the airport, such a short trip offers. The hotel is quite ok The downside of course, is the immediate airport by aircraft noise during the day constantly taking off and landing aircraft. The place is not very sprektakulär and is mainly played by local members and guests of the Parador hotel. The space is very open, but has some water obstacles that you should better avoid. The green fee was with 28, - € for hotel guests very cheap and perfectly adequate. The place was very crowded on weekends from sunrise, it has become more of a game in the afternoon hours. The secretarial staff and the members were all very friendly. The place was the maintenance state does not necessarily first choice, but it was still OK The "normal" haircuts for men were all locked and reseeded, so was cut off from the only bad gebeutelteten ladies tees. The complex consists of 27 holes. 18 holes include the main square, then there is a PAR 35 9-hole course (links course). This slightly smaller space offers itself as an alternative if the main course is full. Some tracks of the 9-hole course go for it directly along the sea. The lanes are only separated by a fence from the beach. There is a two-storey driving range, which is, however, very narrow and is located right next to a road (with drift fences). In the square there is a large colony settled by parrots that often accompany a vocal on some tracks. I thought that was quite nice as Central Europeans.
