Treated very poorly. Will not return to what has always been our favorite course.

I hate to have to give such a low rating for our 2022 experience (21-22 Sep), but the people who are now working at the course gave me no choice. We have been going to Palisades for about 30 years now and have always talked about it being one of our favorite courses. This time however we had a horrible two days of golf. The course was beautiful, but the employees were horrible. The first day they had a tournament so we could not get out until late afternoon. By that time there were still tournament people in carts driving the wrong way down the fareways, they let so many people out around the same time that it was like a parking lot on the golf course. We got on the 10th hole and another foursome came right up behind us. One of the guys (sounding very drunk) made fun of my 88 year old Dad for the color of his driver. I recognized one of the guys in the foursome as the person who we paid for our golf earlier in the day. He did absolutely nothing to keep the others quiet while we teed off. The second day we had two groups, one with 4 and one with 3. We had people in front of us. There was a single who caught up to us on the 2nd hole as we were waiting to tee off. We asked if he wanted to play through but he declined. On the fourth hole as we were waiting for our group ahead of us, a lady came riding up in a cart saying we needed to let the two singles in back of us play through. We told her that we'd already offered and he declined. She said well there have been people calling and complaining and we have cameras and don't want people to have to wait (where were those cameras the day before???) So I said well why do you let all these singles (locals) go out behind foursomes. She said there were other foursomes complaining. We were not playing slow! So I told her to let our other group know and then we went down a ways to wait for the singles to play through. Problem is they didn't know they were supposed to and were just screwing around until I finally had to drive back up the hill to tell them. They both said they had not complained. What happened is we held things up even more by her not telling everyone what was going on. After the singles played through we never saw another golfer behind us. So the course nazi was obviously concerned that two of their local singles were having to wait. Not sure who was lying - the singles or the course nazi - but never this poor management really put a damper on both days. Also on the second day, my husband was only planning to play 9 holes. We are honest adults and would never try to pull anything over on the course. But as we are coming up to the 9th hole we see this guy standing there watching us with his arms folded. As soon as we got close enough he yelled out to ask which one of us was only playing 9 holes? Seriously??? Have they suddenly gotten so paranoid that they have cameras and think everyone is trying to pull something over on them? We all discussed it and unfortunately this will be our last time driving 3 1/2 hours (one way) to Palisades! My 88 year old Dad always looks so forward to our Palisades golf, but said that he doesn't enjoy being hunted down on the golf couse and treated so disrespectfully. Also, the clubhouse has new owners now and the food is so expensive that they don't even have prices listed on their menus! Seems like new owners and new management as the couse is still owned by the state. So thanks for a lot of enjoyment over the years Palisades, but you just lost some faithfull customers):

fun to play golf course

it's a very nice and not too easy to play golf course on hilly grounds, but still possible to walk. beautifully designed into a valley and on the slopes of the hills. fairways and difficult undulated greens were in very good shape. the course is at times open, at times very narrow, with scattered trees and well placed bunkers (decent sand). top facilities on the course. fun and challenging to play, but a bit on the short side. @ 20$ very fair priced. hole no. 4 is the signature hole, a lonely green on top of the edge of a hill, tough to play (bring some balls) but with a beautiful panorama into the valley.
