Poor condition / very boring

Course played on March 11,2025; holes 19-27 and 1-9. Arriving at the clubhouse, everything looked quite friendly: a nice welcome, a lot of tradition. But that was about it.
Nobody took our clubs from us, we had to load the cart ourselves - unusual in SA.
Then it started: on the hilly holes 19-27 you could almost see the fairway, and at times we even had to tee off over an excavator!
When we finally got to hole 1, hope briefly rose: there was actually a green fairway visible. But the joy faded again by hole 2: brown dominated the landscape. Furthermore, holes 2-8 were practically just up and down highways, all straight, with no variety. Even the somewhat interesting hole 9 couldn't correct the poor impression.
Condition of greens and bunkers: also very poor.
Conclusion: never again, there are dozens of better places in South Africa
