A slice of Italy.

First visit to Rome and I had done my homework on the best places to play.
I liked the look of Olgiata. I wanted to feel like I was playing golf in Italy and this course gave me everything I wanted. Fairways and greens were superb and we were blessed with a hot, clear Roman summer day. Playing here feels like taking a walk in the garden of an Italian country villa. Hire clubs and cart were ready when I arrived. Small issue as I am a lefty, probably should have let them know, but all ok in the end. Staff were great.
The course is challenging without being heartbreaking. If the restaurant is open have lunch, the food is very good, authentic and extremely reasonably priced. The golf experience is not cheap. I paid €100 for a round plus €50 each way travelling by cab from Rome, but if you want a great day of golf on a course that let's you share a little more of Italy, then this is the one.

Disappointing

Firstly the back nine were closed which was disappointing, the tees were in a shocking state and greens were sanded with two temporaries - felt cheated paying €100 for this. Long par 3's were interesting but overall the course looked shabby.

A challenging course NW of Rome

In May 2012: friendly atmosphere, luxurious Club House. Challenging course: narrow fairways, hidden greens, fast icy surface of greens. The second nine holes are more interesting: up and down hills. All in all a fair course and fun to play. Some fairways are like carpets. Currently quite some construction going on though. Mainly the tee-off for women (red) are being rebuilt. For female players: wait several weeks!

Winter Golf

The course is in very good condition for the time of year. Wild boar damage is minimal. Secretariat very courteous. Presumably GF abbreviated and not willing to provide information. Scorecard a bit confusing, that would have needed a little clarification. There are 73,72,71 rounds. Unfortunately no CR + SL values on the scorecard.

Club complex very generous and staff attentive. Unfortunately no dinner before 7:00 p.m.

Greens in good condition, fairways are partly deep, which is due to the weather.

Miserable condition and zero tolerance

The place is currently practically destroyed due to wild boar damage and is in poor condition. This is not the club's fault, but it is an absolute cheek not to inform customers about it or to grant a discount, not worthy of an alleged top seat.
If you are considering playing there, be sure to ask explicitly about the state beforehand!

Great Place

We played the challenging course in late February. He was in great condition. The tracks are very varied and fairly. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. The place is definitely one of the best places to Rome. We love coming back!
