... very demanding and beautiful...

... is this hilly course...

In addition to a beautiful castle - which exists since 1921, with quarry stone masonry - is this course.

During a beer at the Arrowood Golf Club in Oceanside, Canadians pointed out this course and were full of praise - that was 2013. We played the first course in California at that time.

Unfortunately, the study of the web page does not reveal much - there is a lack of information about the course. The castle dominates.

To make a long story short, the drive into the hinterland of San Diego - up to the hills - is worthwhile.

The scorecard has aroused hope for a relaxed round. Only two par 4 with more than 400 yards, all others less than 350 yards.

But the trouble starts right at Hole 2, up the hill, with hanging fairways. The terrain makes for a challenging round.

Hole 3 - Par 3 182 yards - is the hammer hole par excellence. The journey over the Tobel and the wooden stand bridge is impressive - first down and then up - especially the green that looks out of the forest. This is also one of the par 3 chiseled in our brains.
Jeff Barr - author of 1001 Golf Holes - would dub the photo: It's worth driving out just for this hole.

Cheerful ups and downs provide excitement, variety and a lot of work.

A great well-maintained course with very good greens - for us in the top 10 in southern California.

We were here for the third time today. It was great fun, although we have never done well here.
