Challenging holes with a great view

Great views and a 'wild and natural' layout to a quite tight course.
We recommend this course and would no doubt visit again another year!
Fairways and rough not recently cut, but greens were cut same morning and in great shape - so priorities are right.

Beautiful golf course with a magnificent layout

We played in Meaztegi for the first time the day before yesterday. Booking online was easy, and we even got a small discount (weekend, €65 instead of €79). We added a golf cart via email, and that worked perfectly too.
The course was very busy on a beautiful Sunday. Nevertheless, we were always able to play at a good pace, and the many other players were hardly noticeable during our round. The layout is beautifully integrated into the landscape. It's almost always uphill or downhill, with only a few fairways that slope. Precise play is essential. Most holes are perfectly fair, however. Only the 12th hole presents a real challenge. A very tactical approach is required there.
The greens were quite fast and often undulating or sloping. Definitely a challenge.
Our round was interrupted by a thunderstorm. A warning came from the clubhouse. Unfortunately, no all-clear was given later. But gradually everyone resumed their game.
This course is definitely worth playing if you have the chance. It was in excellent condition. And playing on a course designed by Seve Ballesteros is well worth the slightly higher, but still manageable, green fee.

A really great course that nestles against the side of the mountain. The special thing is that you can see many holes at once. The course was in very good condition, although quite wet. The greens are faster than expected. Some fairways are very narrow. The 12th is an almost unplayable hole that can only be mastered with luck. The view is magnificent on many holes. The poor woman who sells the green fees has to sit in the starter's house. There was no shop. It may be that they are renovating, or maybe they are just cutting costs. You have to bring your own driver tee for the driving range mats. The green fee is - as on many courses in northern Spain - incredibly cheap at €37 for 18 holes!
