Athletically demanding leading golf course

We played this course in June 23 as part of our camper tour with friends who are members there. The course is one of the leading golf courses and promised something special from the first sight. When we arrived, there was a thunderstorm and the men's afternoon was just "dated off" and all the players found themselves on the clubhouse terrace. But the thunderstorm passed (apparently that happens more often there) and so nothing stood in the way of our afternoon tour.
The first hole (tee in front of the terrace) goes straight uphill in a curved arc, the second even steeper, before it goes downhill again with a nice balcony tee. All in all, there are a number of inclines to be overcome, an e-trolley is recommended - alternatively a carrying bag. Pushing my trolley was only a half good idea. Maybe that was the reason for the relatively high loss rate of balls? The fairways want to be played in the right places, otherwise a ball will quickly disappear into the lateral rough (which is usually marked as a red penalty area). Despite the lost balls, we really liked the course, no track is like the other and you can tell the proximity to the mountains not only by the great views on the round.
The greens are sometimes heavily undulated, but in very good condition, the fairways are also in good condition (although you can definitely tell that they are dry). The only point of criticism are the tee boxes, the tee areas are rock hard, you hardly get a tee. Almost looks like concrete. That's why I knocked off the ground on some lanes, simply because there was no tee to get into the ground...

Overall, however, we had a great & quite comfortable round, which also dragged on due to ball searches and inclines (we were on the road for 5 hours).

The restaurant afterwards is also highly recommended, we ate excellently and it is very nice to sit on the (sunny) terrace. Since we were allowed to stay overnight with the camper in the hotel parking lot of the Hotel Margarethenhof right next door, we were able to enjoy the breakfast offered in the restaurant the next morning (very fair €15), which was also wonderful! And the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Incidentally, the hotel also belongs to the "Lanserhof" next door, but the restaurant does not.

The changing rooms and showers are also very nice, modern and equipped with everything your heart desires after a round.

We had a wonderful time there, I was able to stock up on new logo balls in the pro shop (by the way, you can also buy Vice balls here!) and so the journey to the next course was strengthened in every respect.

CONCLUSION: beautiful place, great layout, interesting tracks, good restaurant with 1a terrace. Staff Bavarian friendly cordial. We'll be back for sure!!

Charming place in wonderful tranquility

Before my visit, I received a few "warning" tips from golf friends and read some of the (negative) reviews here, and I went to Margarethenhof with mixed feelings. After the round I was very pleasantly surprised and do not understand some of the comments here at all. But on the contrary!

Admittedly, the course is very "hilly" (to put it in a friendly way) and golfers who are not good on foot, a cart is advisable. Even with an e-trolley it can be quite exhausting. I don't want to push / pull or even carry my golf bag here. But therefore rate the place negatively is nonsense. On the other hand, places like St. Vigil Seis (South Tyrol) or Salobre New Course (Gran Canaria) are raved about... There is no question of "not playable". Yes, the lanes are often narrow and precise play is required, but that too is what defines this course. The heroes at the drivers are missing something.

The negative rating is just as ridiculous because you had to stay on the paved paths with the carts due to the weather. It's the same everywhere and I've also seen it at the top places in Mauritius. We found the somewhat "confused" layout of the square and especially the sometimes very confusing signage annoying. Twice we were completely lost...

We enjoyed the wonderful tranquility, great views, an exemplary well-kept space, first-class equipment and then a delicious meal in the restaurant.

Oh well…

I expected more.
The biggest drawback, however, is that cart use is only allowed on the paths. This means that on some lanes, for example, the cart path is 10 meters to the left of the lane and if you do not take the cart path as your goal, but rather the optimal layer break to the flag, then you may have to accept 30-50 meters from the cart to the ball within walking distance - and of course back again.
If you are dependent on a cart for health reasons, you have to classify this place as definitely NOT PLAYABLE for people with a handicap. And that although I actually have different requirements with HCP 12.1.
Means: once and certainly not again.

Bicycles do not belong on the golf course

The facility was very well maintained, but the greens had a decent mat, so it wasn't on track. In many places very confusing and often cyclists came out of nowhere.
The lanes are very narrow and you have to play the fairways very carefully. The graduation hole wasn't our thing at all.
If you can play, we don't have to do it again.

Enger mountain goat

Jogi B. is not wrong.
Mountain panorama at the golf there is even better!
The place is a very narrow hilltop meadow which is completely overvalued in my opinion. Certainly during the stay in the hotel and in good weather is a particularly positive atmosphere, but this is clearly not a top place! You must not only be good on foot, but also you can play straight out (Hdcp. 10).
Sure there are some nice holes but the rest is typical country golf at Lake Tegernsee, place can with the old Bad Wiessee in no way keep up.

Beautiful subalpine place

On a small square (therefore also the length of only 5000m) created a challenging and beautiful place. You should play on some tracks rather straight, otherwise the ball is gone.
Blind shots are there once... but it's only just out.
Due to the differences in altitude, the condition is more demanding.
The "Narrow" of the playgrounds around the clubhouse does not bother.
Have played the place after tagelangem rain in the beginning of May, Fairway was mostly very good to the game, the greens were great.
Only the green fee under the week for 80 € and yet a short place seems too high for me.
Food was delicious and also price-perfect.
All the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Come gladly again in better weather again.

More shine than reality

Who likes summit or landscape looks ok, but also because there are far more beautiful and especially favorable places. Feels like a mown "tourist area", athletic, only the "Kraxeltouren" and paths between the holes.
If you own 1st to the range, 10th tee and 18th green (all next to each other) look... there is no golf course designer may have been at work. The First Cut is so high (a second there, thank God) that one really has problems to find balls,, particularly when many blind shots. The green edges were partially "hyperhydrated", so everything was soft and flabby. And last but not least: recently aerifizierte greenside full green fee!! Tourist rip off.
If his money is absolutely not worth it (even at a reduced green fee).

Short but powerful

We played the course today and were very impressed. Care condition 1a, fast and loyal greens, challenging course layout. It goes up and down slopes inclusive and blind holes. Overall, not easy to play but fair. Even if it is "only" a par 70 course is highly recommended.

However, the green fee of 80 euros is already in the far upper segment located in Germany

Schön & sporty!

DC advance three tips:

1. Enough wrap balls, as old trees, narrow paths and blind shots "claim victims".
2. Those who are not in top physical shape, require Cart, since there are virtually no flat sheet.
3. If it has been raining, choose dark clothes - the place is prone to moisture.

Taking into account this advice, expects a great, varied golf course with phasenweisem Alpine panorama and an exciting and never boring layout. The motto "From Fairway can's every" here is more than true, for semi-rough and rough have it real in itself and cost some punches if you missed the train.

Who would like to play here our respect

Golf in the mountains

Have played at the Munich Circle Trophy this place.

Many golfers like this up-and-down places not (No condition?) I love such terrains! Ideally located, beautiful, wide paths, extremely well maintained and exciting applied..
Driving range is very narrow and very chaotic. Way to the next tea should be better signposted. Have my flight partner criticized.
Wonderful terrace, good food, attentive service!
So I imagine a day of golf.

9 hole green fee

Condition: Very good!
No evidence of "Next Tee".
Lane 7 with a network separate from the road - no way for shorter drives to locate the ball.
Recalling track 8 shown too small, you have to search for this sign.
Clubhouse without evidence of changing rooms, toilets - you have to ask for everything.
Restaurant upscale prices - but also very good.
All in all though a nice golf day with small drawbacks.

Monrepos above the Tegernsee

Very good place in an idyllic location in the mountains above Lake Tegernsee.
The tracks are very nice and fair nestled in the hills of the Bavarian Alps.
The condition is excellent at the time of my visit.
The pro shop is sorted dignified in textile Beeich.
In conjunction with a stay at the same hotel-highly recommended
