...two very great courses...

...which we played for the first time 12 years ago; the Hills was one of the best 100 courses in Florida at the time.
...today this is unfortunately no longer enough, it is no longer included in the list, there are numerous potent competitors - in the meantime some excellent courses have been built.
It is an extremely spacious, very extensive and very well maintained resort, the entrances raise expectations that are basically fulfilled.
Great clubhouses, perfect practice area - you can really work here - two courses with plenty of space to play.
Both are driver courses, with hardly any trees or palm trees disturbing you from the tees and very wide fairways.
We played both courses within seven days. The Hills after a rainy day, and we encountered wet, sometimes deep ground in the critical spots. We had to work hard to reach the green in the normal way - it wasn't always possible - the wind was also against us. There aren't that many green bunkers on either course - we didn't hit any - but we did hit a few fairway bunkers...
Both courses are great fun to play and challenging, with each hole offering more than 390 yards of back tees.
The Hills has lost some of its former idyllic charm. The beautiful forests have been cleared at many holes, huge construction sites have been created, and houses are being built. The "hidden" greens are fun.
In general, we share drfritzmaier's assessment, but are not quite as harsh in our evaluation. Both courses easily deserve four stars, the course maintenance was very good during our visit, in many areas even excellent - it was overall better than in the World Golf Village.
Staff and service only get the best marks - even a shuttle service to the park lots - you are not allowed to drive into these with the club carts.
Some information gave us food for thought before our visits, especially the reports in the media. This may also explain the brisk construction activity...
