Small but challening

This course, featuring only one par 5, is challenging and calls for tactical play. For example, there is a 90-degree dogleg on hole 2 with knee water, as well as 15-meter trees that reveal water again just before the green. And there are more challenges of this kind within these small 9 holes. Although the entire surrounding setting suggests the course is relatively new, there is no sign of that on the course itself.
Highly recommended, therefore, for anyone who really wants to show off their golfing skills.

A quick lap in the holiday village with plenty of water

Played on September 18,2026. The small 9-hole course (par 33) with four par 3s and one par 5 is located just beyond the A7 motorway, directly behind the center of La Cala de Mijas. There is currently no dedicated parking area. The clubhouse is still visible on Google Earth, but it is currently a construction site. Parking is available either on the street or in a large, dusty parking lot behind the Asian restaurant, next to the temporary container where the staff member sits at the counter and greets players. It's a short city course nestled between streets and residential areas, yet five of the nine holes require playing over water. Hole 8 (a short par 3, even featuring a slightly elevated tee shot to a peninsula green) is another example. Some of the tee boxes are quite narrow, and there are mature trees. The driver is rarely needed here; strategy is key. Twice, on the 2nd and 7th holes, the ball must be played 90 degrees over water to reach the green. Overall, the course is short but challenging. The course was in decent condition, as long as you're not expecting a pristine green. On a sunny Friday afternoon, the course was relatively quiet. Tee times can be booked online via the website, but payment is required immediately. A 9-hole round costs a reasonable €35, and a manual trolley is €3. A golf cart isn't really necessary here, but you can rent one anyway. There's also a driving range, but it's located after the green of the fourth hole. You hit uphill into a slope between large safety nets. I didn't see anyone using it. To reach holes 5 and 6, located next to the sewage treatment plant, you have to cross the road. These two holes are rather monotonous. After the 6th green, you walk between a parking lot and the maintenance yard, passing a restroom. The atmosphere there isn't particularly appealing. The small donkey statues, a symbol of the town of Mijas, are a nice touch. All in all, this course is best suited for a quick round to get acquainted with the course or to round off a holiday. In no way comparable to the other resort facilities in the region.
