Not worth the money

Played in July 2025 in sinshine weather.
Friendly staff but booring course without any difficuilties.
Also much too short for a course.
No driving range either…

Good golf course, first row by the sea.

Played on July 8,2026. The 18-hole golf course, without a driving range, is located about 18 miles east of Edinburgh city center, directly on the Firth of Forth coast. All holes offer unobstructed, fantastic sea views. The course is mostly flat with one or two gentle inclines. Blind shots are possible. Especially on the 4th tee, you can only see the marker post indicating where to play. The 10th hole (par 3) dips into a valley. Holes 1 through 6 run directly along the sea. The sea, or rather the beach, is the out-of-bounds area. After 9 holes, you reach the far end of the course. There is a toilet and a drinking water fountain at the 12th tee. As is typical for a true links course, there is plenty of rough and no water hazards. However, there are several pot bunkers. Most holes are straight. Overall, the course is open, but the fairways are relatively narrow. There are two tee options; higher handicappers should choose the front one. For men, the course plays as a par 69 with only one par 5, and for women as a par 72. The course was in good overall condition. Play was brisk on a Wednesday afternoon, but not overcrowded. We booked a 3:30 pm tee time online and didn't catch up to the group in front of us, nor did anyone behind us have to wait. Booking a tee time online, which is preferably only available in the afternoon, currently costs £120 regardless of the day or time. A trolley costs a reasonable £5. Links courses on the coast tend to be a bit more expensive. The pro shop employee was friendly. The clubhouse is generally a bit dated and seems to only offer a bar and snacks. However, the restrooms were modern. Next to the clubhouse, there is a small chipping green, a small putting green, and two teeing nets. Compared to Gullane GC and Craigielaw, I'd say this course offers third best value for money, without meaning that in a derogatory way. Anyone who loves links golf will certainly not go wrong here.

We played the course in July 2018. It is a typical, very well maintained local links course, rather not too long, therefore also for medium Hcp amusing. Gorgeous looks and a lot of wind in the game. Price / performance ratio is very good.
