Anyone familiar with "Golfrange" knows that it's never a wasteful course. In these times, when golf courses are repeatedly criticized for their excessive use of space and resources, I consider this a great blessing.
Apart from that, I appreciate the brevity and refinement of all GR courses, which demand and reward tactically sound, well-aimed and well-placed shots.
The course in Nuremberg-Nemsdorf is extremely undulating (a bit like a crater, and quite spectacular on a smaller scale), which requires even more precise placement. That's what wakes me up; I enjoy it. But everyone is different. (Some people like "wandering courses," which bore me beyond measure, even though I'm a long hitter.) That's why I've enjoyed playing on the golf ranges for years.
This especially applies to the practice facilities. I find them significantly better here than anywhere else. In the area near the parking lot, there's so much space to practice, with excellent greens, bunkers, and fairways all around, something you don't see anywhere else: fantastic. The only thing is that there's no water (pond), which doesn't matter.
There's just one minor issue: the transition from 2nd to 3rd pitch could be more clearly marked, especially for visitors, and perhaps some sort of path could be added behind the hill. It's also good that there are still marshals (where do you find them anymore) to keep watch and provide support.
The restaurant is nice and sheltered from the wind. The GR staff was always polite, friendly, attentive, and helpful. The prices are excellent.
You have to find the place with your navigation system, though. Unfortunately, it's very remote.

He shows you exactly where you're making mistakes and explains with great competence what changes you need to make, and he also demonstrates them. That's very helpful. It makes you want to practice. The group rounds with a strategic approach are also excellent. Very friendly and empathetic lessons. Highly recommended! Thanks also to the golf range team, always friendly and helpful. You feel very well looked after. The course is in great condition thanks to the hard work of the greenkeeper team and the marshals make sure it stays that way. GREAT! I'm already looking forward to next year.

As a repeat offender, after having already taken part in the summer camp this year, I completed the autumn camp at the GolfRange Nuremberg with Pro Frank Wirtz from September 17th to 19th, 2024. Not only did the 3 days fly by, the training and the daily round of golf that followed were just great. Frank addressed each participant individually and gave us lots of helpful tips on how to correct the mistakes that had crept into our game. On the 29.07.2019 on the occasion of our "Frankenrunde" the place of the GolfRange Nuremberg was (now the 8th place in Middle Franconia, which was tested by us). Unfortunately, the weather left us in the lurch, because it was windy and partly drizzled slightly. What we did not know to sign up was that this weather fits in well with this place and made the feeling perfect. Why? Because this place is modeled on a links course. One has the feeling of walking through a small dune landscape. Constant companion are wavy tracks with small elevations left and right and meager grass outside the fairways. Only the perfectly green fairways have nothing to do with the typically barren fairways of links courses. However, these lush green fairways, which are sometimes very narrow, have their place here, as they make the game more enjoyable and predictable. In this place, which is one of the shorter (par 68 at 18 holes), strategic game is more meaningful than "go-it-and-look-what-happens" ;-)
Drives outside the fairways are punished with uncontrolled ricochets from the "dunes" or predicaments. Sometimes the greens have to be played blind when you are standing in a "dune". The greens were perfectly maintained and the bunkers filled with fine sand, so that here was a good game was possible (we had already places with rock-hard bunkers). Only the speed on the greens was a bit too slow for us.
The training facilities are very generous and with the best that we have seen and tested in recent weeks. Great is also the price (22 euros for a 9-hole round including practice facilities).
Unfortunately, due to lack of time, we were not able to test the gastronomy this time, but we are sure to come back and make up for it.
Conclusion: A short but challenging golf course with a special charm and great practice facilities and very good care condition. Only players with a one-digit handicap will probably be under-challenged, but should have played it anyway.
