Amazing parkland

We have been playing the Sandy Lyle course at Wilkendorf and it was a true pleasure. All the facilities of the golf club are in really good conditions from the driving range to the putting and chipping green.
The course itself is perfectly planned into the landscape - it goes straight, up and down, long doglegs and especially with the wind conditions of today a really demanding course.
We had fun - fairways and greens are in good shape and even with lots of rain over the last days the course was still nice to play.
Play this course, it's worth it!

I played this course to day and was extremely impressed with it. The facilities are very good, nice club house with lovely smelling food emanating from the restaurant area, good selection in the pro shop, practice facilities etc.
The Sandy Lyle course was recommended by staff in a Berlin golf store and I was glad I played. The course was in excellent condition. The rough had been cut down so wayward balls were easy to find and the fairways were nice and open. Its a parkland course but without the trees lining the fairways so you have plenty of room for error. In all it was a very casual game and not too demanding at all, just a pleasant day out.

The 18-hole "Sandy Lyle" course was integrated into the slightly hilly landscape in a very appealing way. In absolute peace, it goes slightly uphill and downhill. Partially elevated tees, wavy fairways, lined with high hard rough - which, however, should come into play less often because the fairways are sufficiently wide. There are also water hazards, in the pond of hole 16/17 large black shadows appear again and again - these come from huge grass carp up to 100cm long... The bunkers are also large and sometimes deep, as well as large greens with strong undulations, this is where the joy of putting comes in on. In particular, the green of hole 18 is unparalleled, as it is the largest single green in Germany at around 1,100 square meters.
The 18-hole "Westside" course is the "little brother" of the Sandy Lyle course. Wide fairways, slightly hilly terrain, doglegs, elevated tees, some water hazards, also large bunkers and of course very, very large greens... waiting to be played on the round of golf. The front 9 is initially quite flat, before the back 9 has a few slightly hilly sections. The golf course is easy to play. Most interesting are the 9,16 and 17 where water comes into play. Otherwise, most tracks go relatively straight. The place is not bad and varied, but somehow I expected more. Most of the tees are open so higher HC should be fine, at least from the front tees. The rough was mowed down. I think it's better to stay away from it in the summer. The clubhouse is modern, the changing rooms and the sanitary facilities are up to date. The restaurant with an outside terrace (not in use) makes a good impression. The ladies in the pro shop / secretariat were friendly. What is missing is a green fee mailbox if you tee off before opening time. A sign indicates that in this case you should speak to the answering machine, the telephone number given there, and then receive an invoice. However, the AB does not start! And you won't get a scorecard when the secretariat is closed, and it is not possible to use the toilet. At a 36-hole course you should be on site from sunrise if you offer the appropriate start times. But now to the Westside course that I played. To the first tee you walk a little (about 10 minutes walk from the clubhouse). The tee is at the end of the driving range. Basically, the course is flat to slightly hilly. Warm temperatures, enough rain and the greenkeepers will do their part. The fun was worth it for me twice, for my journey from Steglitz by public transport to Strausberg Nord, followed by 3.2 km walk to the clubhouse, a good two hours on the road.
