Amazing parkland

We have been playing the Sandy Lyle course at Wilkendorf and it was a true pleasure. All the facilities of the golf club are in really good conditions from the driving range to the putting and chipping green.

The course itself is perfectly planned into the landscape - it goes straight, up and down, long doglegs and especially with the wind conditions of today a really demanding course.
We had fun - fairways and greens are in good shape and even with lots of rain over the last days the course was still nice to play.

Play this course, it's worth it!

I played this course to day and was extremely impressed with it. The facilities are very good, nice club house with lovely smelling food emanating from the restaurant area, good selection in the pro shop, practice facilities etc.

The Sandy Lyle course was recommended by staff in a Berlin golf store and I was glad I played. The course was in excellent condition. The rough had been cut down so wayward balls were easy to find and the fairways were nice and open. Its a parkland course but without the trees lining the fairways so you have plenty of room for error. In all it was a very casual game and not too demanding at all, just a pleasant day out.

Still too early

Sandy Lyle Course difficult to play due to arification. Fairways and putting greens are not good. Lots of wet spots. The greens only allow the ball to bounce and have many mushroom spots. Even for half the green fee I would still wait. It will take a while until the place reaches its old good quality.

Great golf course!

We were there with the mobile home and therefore used both golf courses and the practice facilities extensively. A super golf course, with a beautiful clubhouse and terrace, we really, really liked it..

The 18-hole "Sandy Lyle" course was integrated into the slightly hilly landscape in a very appealing way. In absolute peace, it goes slightly uphill and downhill. Partially elevated tees, wavy fairways, lined with high hard rough - which, however, should come into play less often because the fairways are sufficiently wide. There are also water hazards, in the pond of hole 16/17 large black shadows appear again and again - these come from huge grass carp up to 100cm long... The bunkers are also large and sometimes deep, as well as large greens with strong undulations, this is where the joy of putting comes in on. In particular, the green of hole 18 is unparalleled, as it is the largest single green in Germany at around 1,100 square meters.

The 18-hole "Westside" course is the "little brother" of the Sandy Lyle course. Wide fairways, slightly hilly terrain, doglegs, elevated tees, some water hazards, also large bunkers and of course very, very large greens... waiting to be played on the round of golf. The front 9 is initially quite flat, before the back 9 has a few slightly hilly sections. The golf course is easy to play. Ideally, first play the Westside Course "to get in" and then the next day the Sandy Lyle Course as a conclusion

On the terrace of the clubhouse you can sit very nicely by the huge and very undulating green of the 18 (Sandy Lyle). The service concept of the golf course is very appealing, combining a golf shop, registration/counter and restaurant in one. The bistro's menu offers delicious seasonal dishes. There is also a large selection of drinks and fresh snacks available for before, during or after your round of golf.

The practice facilities should not go unmentioned either. There is a huge driving range with grass tees and several tee huts, as well as various putting and chipping greens. There is also a 6-hole short course. When you visit, plan enough time for intensive round preparation and training.

Clear recommendation for a visit!

Sandy Lyle Square

Sandy Lyle Course played on 11/28/2021. I had already played the Westside course of the 36-hole course on November 6th, 2021, so this rating refers to the Sandy Lyle course. To be honest, I don't remember many highlights compared to the Westside course. The course is basically flat (cart not required) but still has a few elevated tees. Most interesting are the 9,16 and 17 where water comes into play. Otherwise, most tracks go relatively straight. The place is not bad and varied, but somehow I expected more. Most of the tees are open so higher HC should be fine, at least from the front tees. The rough was mowed down. I think it's better to stay away from it in the summer. The condition was in accordance with the weather conditions at the end of November in order. Most of the yellow haircuts were in red and the red in orange, probably to protect the standard haircuts. The greens had a mushroom, but were playable. Apparently, summer greens are also played here in winter. The standard green fee of 70 € on weekdays and 80 € on weekends is about 10 € too high in my opinion. I don't see a justified difference to Westside-Platz. The winter green fee for my game was €40 on a Sunday. Despite the cold and foggy, but dry weather, the game was lively, if not overcrowded. As a single player I was let through or was invited to join the pre-flight. As a guest, you cannot currently book a tee time, as the 2G rule applies not only in the clubhouse, but also on the pitch. So you have to show your vaccination certificate first before you can go on the round. Decide for yourself which course you like better, I would play both courses again.

Westside Square

Westside course played on November 6th, 2021. The 36 hole course, plus. 6 hole short course, located approx. 40 km north / east of Berlin, jwd, in absolute tranquility and nature. The two courses Westside and Sandy-Lyle are surrounded by forest and thus far away from any traffic noise. From the A10 motorway you drive a good bit overland to the facility. Drive to the club, past the golf academy, then up a small street, past a few newly built single family homes, to the club’s parking lot. The clubhouse is modern, the changing rooms and the sanitary facilities are up to date. The restaurant with an outside terrace (not in use) makes a good impression. The ladies in the pro shop / secretariat were friendly. What is missing is a green fee mailbox if you tee off before opening time. A sign indicates that in this case you should speak to the answering machine, the telephone number given there, and then receive an invoice. However, the AB does not start! And you won't get a scorecard when the secretariat is closed, and it is not possible to use the toilet. At a 36-hole course you should be on site from sunrise if you offer the appropriate start times. But now to the Westside course that I played. To the first tee you walk a little (about 10 minutes walk from the clubhouse). The tee is at the end of the driving range. Basically, the course is flat to slightly hilly. A cart is not required for those with normal sporting ambitions. Since you are not back at the clubhouse even after 9 holes, there is a toilet on the 10th tee, also between holes 14 and 15. The 18 holes come along nicely, without the big highlights. There are one or two nice raised tees at 13 and 15 and a PAR3,11, where you also have to go downhill a little bit over water. The 17 also offers another challenge. There are a few easy doglegs as well as well-placed bunkers. Water hazards are rather rare. Almost all of the discounts are very open. If you stay away from the high rough, it should work with a good score. The greens are not particularly undulating. According to the homepage, the course is public and can be played without membership. The maintenance condition was okay due to the season. Some wet spots because of the rain of the last few days and the bunkers were very wet. Part of the water was still there. The greens were playable but had a mushroom with some brown spots and earthworms all over them. The haircuts were quite used, but at least moved to not so worn places. The areas between tee and fairway were very uneven and unfortunately not nice to look at. The game on a rather cloudy but dry Saturday morning was brisk. But that may have been due to the fact that a big tournament was taking place on Sandy-Lyle Platz and there were also tournaments on the Westside from 10 a.m. There are tee times that guests can also book via the homepage. The standard green fee of € 60 on weekdays and € 70 on weekends is at the upper limit. In summer there is a very cheap sundowner at least on weekdays. I received a 50% discount, which was reasonable considering the condition of the place. There is nothing fundamental to complain about at the Westside course. I will come back and play the Sandy-Lyle course and then see whether it is more challenging, as can be seen from the specifications.

It was great fun

Played several courses on our tour of the "new countries".
The Sandy Lyle in Wilkendorf was by far the best. Arnold Palmer in Bad Saarow, Schloßplatz in Fleesensee and others drop considerably.
Despite 37 ° and very dry weather it is wonderful to play - but with a cart.
Wide fairways, very loyal greens and beautiful scenery.
Overall, a very recommendable facility.

Dry place

We played the Westsid course on 08/24/2020.
Tees and greens are OK. The FW are also OK.
After the cutting off, the grass has dried up / burned up.
Irrigation would be appropriate here. The paths are also stony / bumpy.
In this state we will no longer play the course.
The subsequent meal in the clubhouse was good.
LG Andreas.

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for your rating, which absolutely represents the location as it was. We are sorry that the play areas that were not so prominent were dried up. We now have three very hot summers behind us and unfortunately it cannot be avoided that certain areas dry up where no water can get. Unfortunately, we cannot enlarge our irrigation system either, as the water authorities are not interested in golf courses using more water. We carried out a large overseeding program last week and want to establish a new type of grass in these areas over the next few years that requires significantly less water. Until then we have to come to terms with the situation first. We would still be happy to see you again. In the last few days it has rained a lot more and then our golf course recovers very quickly. We can only recommend our Champions Course by Sandy Lyle!
Greetings from Wilkendorf

The "little brother", but no more

The Westside Platz should be maintained with the same effort as its "big brother", the Sandy Lyle Platz. I hope that is not the case. We only played the Westside course this time. The bunkers and greens were neatly maintained, but this could not be said of the fairways. These had different cutting heights, there were tons of foreign grasses, dandelions, dry areas and mowing residues on the fairways. The lanes are not very demanding, the greens are moderately fast, but true to track. The back 9 holes are a bit more varied due to the height differences, but do not leave a lasting impression.
The employees were “neutral” in their contact, and the cake was at least two days old after the round. For 60 € the place is not worth the money, so the 10 € more for the "big brother" is definitely worth it.

Great course

We have now tried Mahlow, Bad Saarow, Wall and Pankow. No golf course is so well maintained and beautifully embedded in the landscape as Wilkendorf. It is a holiday every time. The staff are all so nice and the food delicious. And best of all, you sit on the terrace and watch as the 18th hole is holed by Sandy.

Beautiful place that is worth a long journey even in March.

As a new member, I was able to play the Sandy Lyle-Platz on the weekend 23./24.3.19 for the first time and am very excited about the surprisingly good condition of the fairways and the greens at such an early stage. Very pleasing design, water is not a real obstacle, wide fairways. I am very curious how the course will develop and visually change over the vegetation period. At the moment no rough comes into play and there are hardly any reasons to lose balls there. My preliminary 4 * rating at the end of March gives me hope that the course earns its 5 stars from May. Warm temperatures, enough rain and the greenkeepers will do their part. The fun was worth it for me twice, for my journey from Steglitz by public transport to Strausberg Nord, followed by 3.2 km walk to the clubhouse, a good two hours on the road.

Dear Mr. JK,

We hope you still had a wonderful round of golf in Wilkendorf at our Audi Quattro Golf Cup.

Due to various renovations on our golf course, we currently have no current Birdie book (the change is currently being added). However, we have on each track a wonderful hole graphics with all the details, distances on all sprinklers, distance piles next to the fairway, reflectors on the flagpoles, etc.

Furthermore, our golf course architect did an outstanding job of drawing the excellent Sandy Lyle course, as there is not a "blind" hole on the course. All tracks are therefore wonderful to see.

Your rating for our golf course with a star instead of five stars, we feel as unjustified. Since you come from a, from us much appreciated, neighboring facility, we would be pleased if you question your rating again and possibly adjust again.

We would be happy to see you playing again this year on our very popular Westside Platz. There was no conversion work and therefore there is a current birdie book for this place.

See you soon and have a wonderful golfing season

Place and Team Top!

Sandy Lyle place to play terrific despite the dryness. No comparison to the state as esp. Fleesensee, which could cut here several discs. Staff super friendly and tried to make the golf day a great day. We felt as welcome guests, green fee super adequate.

Wilkendorf Palace / Sandy Lyle Square

We (Hcp 12 and 22) played the Sandy Lyle place in the Wilkendorf Golfpark on October 7, Overall opinion: Sensational!!
A rare golf course design, each track differently, extremely varied and beautifully placed in the beautiful landscape, every tee a new look-enjoyment - simply perfect and with the "big ones" here in Germany and also in other countries (already have many places worldwide played) comparable and at eye level!
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, cared for and served by a very friendly and accommodating staff.
What more does the Golferherz want - we will definitely come back and will warmly recommend the place.

No frills and heart!

I went today with the club manager Mr. Schuhmann over the course - a really beautiful golf course with 36 holes. Exciting were the topics about the square care and the natural development of the facility! Particularly noticeable to me is the uncomplicated and relaxed kind as the club manager and the member of the supervisor Ms. Giebel have recorded. As a Neugolfer one is not seen as a foreign body, but rather welcomed! Der Golfpark now has one more member!

Beautiful place in a dream setting, but...

I have already played the Sandy Lyle and the West Side. Both places are located in a fantastic natural landscape and are worth a round of all seasons. Thanks to the Greenkeeper team, the pitches are in very good condition. The clubhouse is great with the lovely terrace (soon overlooking Loch 18) and the good food really recommendable. The staff including the reception are extremely friendly and attentive.
All this does not fit to the club manager who bounced us on the 9th of August 2017 and met in a very arrogant manner on the West Side at his "private round". The tasks of a club manager to win new members and activate the club life, he probably did not really internalize.
But that should not prevent anyone from playing this place.

Dear Mr klaudi,

Thank you for your assessment of our golf courses. Your assessment of my person I feel somewhat disappointing. I have presented myself correctly with your flight and you exclusively (the complete flight) pointed out about a situation in the golf.

Golf is a wonderful sport, but unfortunately it happens on the golf courses of this world, that different golfers do not respect the etiquette. That one then feels personally attacked, if one is then pointed out by a club responsible factually, but I understand.

Your complete 4-way flight with the handicap compilation 34,0 / 34,0 / 30,9 / PR has unfortunately lost the connection to all the previous flights and has a two flight with handicap (11,9 / 12,3), which additionally with Cart was on the road. The following flight has been knocked off 2 hours after you at Tee 1 and has reached the 14th. Not only you, but your complete flight has had several holes the chance to play the flying flight uncomplicated. This opportunity was unfortunately not noticed and therefore I have given you the factual reference on the play through.

In our facility, several marshals cross the pitch to coordinate the speed of the game. This is a form of membership creation, because we want to give our members and guests a proper flow of the game.

As we both have already discussed on the club terrace, you are, of course, also a welcome guest at our facility! Nevertheless, I ask you to take the topic of etiquette seriously, because the Spirit of the Game is our most valuable asset!

Best regards

Beautiful golfing experience in the east of Berlin

Have played the Sandy Lyle place. No 5 stars but still very playable. Mittelschwer, embedded in natural hilly grass and forest landscape. Pleasantly quiet and without disturbing windmills or heavily traveled roads. Nice clubhouse, attentive staff; Everything makes a good impression. The 18 lanes are somewhat monotonous and have hardly any water hazards (only with 3 lanes).

Unfortunately, too early in the season played!

I just played the Sandy Lyle Course on 31/03/2016. The clubhouse, restaurant, staff and of course really great! Scenic space is a highlight in Berlin and the 16th hole is a par 5 a great hole. But unfortunately, I still have to say something negative. Since it has been raining for days much, the place was very very wet. In the closely mown fairways, water was thrown up by the trolley wheels and 60% of the fairways you could apply the rule "temporary water", yet to take the full green fee at these conditions is in my view questionable. I'm going to place probably again have a chance in the summer.
