Golfpark Böhmerwald

Seitelschlag 50, A-4161 Ulrichsberg, Austria

Characteristics

With much compassion for nature and the gentle hills of the Mühlviertel Quarter, an 18-hole course was created in the Bohemian Forest area of the tri-border region Upper Austria-Bavaria-Czech Republic in the early 1990s.

The fairways with ponds, shrubs and old trees, surrounded by hedges and forests, and the greens protected by sand and grass bunkers promise a sophisticated golf experience. The grass of the fairways is cut to great width thus it is easy to get back on the course even after a bad shot.

A great advantage of the Golfpark Böhmerwald are the short ways between the individual lanes and from the car park to the clubhouse and the tees. Thus the focus is on golf sport and not on walking for miles between the individual lanes. There are also no electricity pylons and houses spoiling the view and, apart from the occasional tractor driving past, there is no traffic noise.

Greenfee is accounted per day. A special sunset-tarif starting at 15:30. Another bonus is that the Golfpark Böhmerwald is, apart from a few exceptions, not closed for tournaments at the weekend. Thus golfers who often only have time at the weekend can book their desired tee off times and can enjoy their round of golf without being pressed for time! Also cheap monthly greenfees for long stays are available.

To participate in our tournament costs only € 20 plus the standard tournament fee.

The spacious practising facilities like the driving range with 5 roofed teeing grounds, a putting green, chipping and pitch area not only invite to learn how to golf but also to practise the sport.

Small specials along the way: The Golfpark Böhmerwald is dedicated to the subject “herbs“. Informing the golfers about their effects, medicinal herbs and other special plants are presented and described on the individual lanes. Various herbs are used in the dishes which can be enjoyed at the restaurant after a round of golf. The restaurant offers very special culinary delights from the cuisine of the Bohemian Forest but a real must are dumplings and the beer from Austria, Bavaria und Czechia! For your pictures and videos use #boehmerwaldgolf.

Since 2018 a variety of leisure activities such as adventuregolf, archery, running and hiking trails, DiscGolf, SwinGolf, a fully equipped campsite for motorhomes, an eBike charging station and much more will be established. There is also the possibility of a free electric car recharging during the stay. And even if small mistakes happen - we guarantee you will leave the Golfpark Böhmerwald with a big smile!

Be prepared for a challenge!

Played a round today. Weather conditions very hot, but despite this course is in a very good condition.
Good variety of holes and slopes to test even the hardened fast golfer! One thing you will find, is, this course is never boring. If you play a round to your handicap, then you can say: I play to my handicap.
One tip: Look and think before you hit (slopes).
As well as a top class course Böhmerwald holds amazing views. I recommend this place to young and old, high and low handicapers.
A big thank you to the whole team!!

Wonderful Nature

...but almost a bit too much of it. The Böhmerwald golf course and I are not particularly good friends and there are several reasons for that. You have to like 18 holes without having to stand straight when hitting the ball just as much as you like really bumpy fairways, the latter with the disadvantage that the grass varies from several centimeters long to the classic fairway cut from meter to meter, with lots of clover islands in between. In addition, this characteristic means that the course is simply not fair, because the slopes mean that even when you hit the fairway with a good shot, the ball keeps going until it is slowed down by taller grass and ends up in a bad position.
Other courses can do this better, for example those in the nearby Bad Griesbach group or Bayernwald. Furthermore, even if the tees are not too far from the last green, a sign with the next tee is not too much to ask for.
Positive: as mentioned, the wonderful nature, very good greens although with quite different speeds and a very nice secretariat.

Exciting Alpine place

A challenging, varied course, which we found to be in excellent condition. The fairways go up and down, with lots of doglegs and some blind fairways. This course deserves to be played multiple times.
The clubhouse is still being built, so unfortunately no restaurants are yet open. However, the extremely friendly staff are extremely helpful and make sure that everything goes smoothly. We parked our RV right next to hole 18 and enjoyed the absolute peace and quiet in this wonderful area.
We'd be happy to come back anytime.
