Great golf course with American flair, wavy fairways, large bunkers, strongly undulating greens.
Unfortunately, there were some bare spots on the first fairways, green 6 was a bit affected, but otherwise the place is okay. Bunker very easy to play, soft sand, beautifully cut bunker edges, impeccably maintained.
Space will certainly get better over the years, we would definitely like to come back and would certainly play hole 15 differently!

The course is interesting but fair and has a few fairways (such as the 15) that require either good length or clever tactical play. The place is still relatively new and therefore not optimally grown. It will certainly become even more beautiful in the coming years when the trees are a little older. After our second round, we feel compelled to partially revise our assessment.
The very large amounts of precipitation a few days ago and their effects on the square are mainly responsible for this. They hurt the place in some places, the greens on the second nine even badly. In addition, questions have arisen regarding their design.
After such weather events you have to expect that the work will be delayed, we also accept. The greens, some of which have been badly affected, suggest that some were built suboptimally. The design of the green environment has led to an unhindered and large flow of water onto the same. Due to the rather moderate drainage of the greens and the green areas, the grass drowned and died.
The consequences are a lot of brown spots on the greens.
The weather conditions were certainly extreme, but we still suspect that no circular drainage was laid, or that it is undersized, or that the water drainage is insufficient.
The better decision for the construction would have been to build a few greens a little higher than the immediate pre-green area, at the expense of the flowing lines that look really great to prevent the unhindered flow of water onto the greens.
Individual greens have considerable differences in level of up to one meter - we did not register them on our first visit. They were soft and still very easy to play - the speed was right.
Very good birdie book, one of the best in a long time, very special the information and very good on the greens. Our Englishman dreamed of such - for his work on the tour.
Hole 15 annoyed us this time too, the water ditch running diagonally through the fairway in the second half stole our balls from all of us. It is a very spacious facility that gives a lot of space, even if the drive is not quite straight - there are no trees that interfere or even stand in the way, except for hole 11. Absolute precision is required and the right weapon from Tea. The semi was very good, cut short, that saved us from losing the ball.
The first holes follow the slightly rising terrain, then it goes down again and it becomes flat. The small ponds remind us of Florida, as do the earth movements. The island green in front of the clubhouse - on hole 9 - was built around 85 years after the first. Herbert Strong invented it and realized it for the first time in Ponte Verda Beach Florida. The moat on hole 15 requires a good strategy, today we were even forced to submit - we were short of tea - did not want to lose balls.
The greens were very good to play, they were really fun. They are also not that difficult since they have only weak modeling.
It was all fun, despite the weather, there were always drops - even with the score we could be satisfied under these conditions. It would not be so difficult to play in dry conditions, five par 4s are less than 350 meters - back tees.

Unfortunately, it offers little shade, but otherwise there is not much to complain about:

The prices are high: weekdays and weekend you have to shell out for 18 holes whole 115 €! For 9 holes are € 61 due. (Guests of Zillertal lodging: 84/49 €)
Also as a hotel guest in the "Sportresidenz Zillertal" located directly on the square you get a discounted green fee (also with 9 holes), a free cart as well as driving range use and two range balls as a gift. The greenkeeping was friendly and considerate during our round. The railways are not all quite successful - track 12 (par 3), track 14 (par 3) and track 16 (par 3) are a bit boring.
