A very beautiful park, it's fun to play on the well-maintained course. The holes are very varied and not boring at all, and the greens were very well-maintained for the time of year.

Played on October 7th, 2020. The flat 18-hole course with driving range is located directly on the A1 north of Hamm and south of Ascheberg. The proximity to the A1 has the advantage that you can get there relatively quickly, but you can clearly hear the motorway, especially on the trains directly on the A1. Apart from that, the place is otherwise very idyllic in nature around the handsome moated castle Westerwinkel, which probably houses a museum and can be visited at least at any time from the outside or with a booked tour from the inside. As a guest, you can unfortunately only park in the public castle car park, as the club car park is secured by a barrier. There is no doorbell, the barrier only opens with an access card. At the castle parking lot there is a sign not to leave any valuables in the car! From the parking lot you walk about 300m to the clubhouse and restaurant (not tested). I was welcomed at the clubhouse, as befits a palace square, by a free-roaming peacock. The course offers a variety of lanes with various bunkers and mainly water hazards, often in the form of small streams. There is relatively little rough, but there is a lot of lateral bush, sometimes marked as out of bounds. One or the other tall tree also comes into play. Still, I wouldn't call the place parkland. Most lanes are too open from the tee, so that even high HC should be able to cope. The parallel tracks are usually not separated from each other by trees. Due to the water hazards that come into play, a more strategic game is often required after the tee shot. The condition of my game was more or less okay. Some fairways often had bare and unsightly spots, especially in front of the greens. The mole struck many tracks and here and there too much foreign growth could be seen.
