As far as the fairways are concerned, I only half liked the course. It gave me the impression that a 9-hole course was created a long time ago, whose courses today offer a great stock of trees with lots of water hazards and are therefore very demanding. These include lanes 4-10 and 17 and 18. These also require very careful and precise shots. Failures are quickly punished and spoil the score.
At lanes 1 and 2 you play around the driving ranch. Hole 3 is an absolutely exposed flat pair 5 without any appeal. Lanes 11-16 are usually very exposed and are often only characterized by their length. Here the place had no flair for me. The signage also has room for improvement. On a few lanes, I first had to look for the rather small signs that told me where to go to the next tee. I was also very annoyed by the strong street noise, which repeatedly accompanies the railways through the connecting road from the motorway to the center of Straubing. For me personally, permanent street noise is a fun killer when playing golf. Hence my heading "A matter of taste". On lane 16, I thought "it's good that it's over". Holes 17 and 18 made up for it :-) The 17 a great par 3 over a longer water hazard and the 18 a par 4 along a lake with the green in front of the club terrace.
