The Sterngartl Golf Club really surprised and delighted us on our first visit. The golf course, about 25 km north of Linz, is like a sprawling alpine pasture surrounded by wooded hills at about 600 m above sea level. Pure nature and biotopes all around, which are also attractively decorated with flowers. The course itself is hilly, very well maintained and really suitable for every level of player. Despite heavy rain the days before, we were given a golf cart. The fairways and greens were in really good condition, even though they were wet. We really enjoyed the round and rounded off a wonderful day of golf in a fantastic natural setting in the excellent restaurant. For us, the GC Sterngartl is one of the top 3 in Upper Austria.

Our first visit to this lovingly maintained facility; successful all around. The course itself is hilly and therefore a challenge, in between very interesting tracks - but good course management allows a passable score. Two lanes are challenging because it's pretty uphill - the 3 and the 15; that also means a downhill; on the 4 (par 3) and the descents to the green of the 13 and to the tee of the 16. Not a big issue for us, people with physical disabilities are probably better off with a cart.
The restaurant is also a highlight: tasty, well prepared and committed, cordial staff in the service. A successful day, we would love to come back!

In 2017 I played here for the last time, back then only 3 stars, what was moved here is phenomenal!
Hole 1 and 2 were converted into great holes, excellent course maintenance, greens in perfect condition, directional stability and relatively fast, praise to all those responsible. Despite the heavy rain recently, the place was dry and not under "water"!
The par 70 course is relatively short (5,405 m from yellow), but has beautiful, challenging holes and unusual 6 par 3 holes.
The layout is great, because the fairways are demanding, it doesn't get boring, it goes constantly up and downhill.
Gastronomy also very good - all in all you can only recommend this place!

But this should be due to the high altitude and the horrific spring weather. The hole 1 - PAR 5 - uphill is getting used to. Also the partly wide routes from the 3 to the 4 and above all almost unreasonable the way from the 9 to Loch 10! Here I do not understand the planning golf architects at their best.

I felt very well here, both from the nice people I met, as well as from golfing. I think: a place you must have played when you are in the area around Linz!
