Near the Schilcher wine route has been established for more than 30 years around the Renaissance castle Frauenthal a golf course of a special kind. The golf course offers two totally different courses. The ambience of the 18 holes is charcterized by huge oaks, exotic tulip trees, a lot of biotopes and ponds. The front nine are situated in a park landscape with an even and open hole architecture, the back seven are a hilly forest course with natural park character. The fast greens and the high standard of maintenance make the course an unforgettable golf experience. For brave golfers a eagle chance beckons on hole 15! All our Golfcarts equipped with GPS

It's unbelievable how much a course can change its layout over the course of the 18 holes. If you initially play on a very well-tended parkland course with trees that are sometimes centuries old, from hole 11 you go into the "mountains", a wild up and down, great locations, great views. If you don't like that, you can't help. Anyway, we were thrilled. This is how golf should be, exciting, varied and physically quite demanding. The course is not unfair, but requires strategically clever play and you shouldn't - like the author - get carried away to play the diretissima too recklessly, then you will be mercilessly punished. Because the course is not too long, it is surprisingly easy.
The surrounding area is also above average, both the range, the clubhouse and the many Styrians, who were all very friendly. Great day in Frauenthal.
