Oldest golf course in the Sauerland with a lot of charm

Sometimes you look down on a 9-hole course and you do not take it seriously. This should be forgotten on the grounds of the GC Sauerland, which was founded in 1958 and bears the signature of the golf course architect Bernhard von Limburger. Nestled in a slightly undulating parkland that appears open but has a number of strategically placed large trees, the course is a nice alternative to many modern squares with huge greens and long lanes between the holes. The greens are very small, pretty tough and challenging for ambitious players. As bogey player (with me Hcp 16) they are good to master and the bunkers are obviously redesigned and well maintained. The haircuts (only yellow and red) are pleasingly straight and well maintained. The fairways have little foreign vegetation and are interesting mowed. On my last laps the greens were in a very good condition after the winter damage. For me again and again a nice end is the clubhouse, which with a large terrace allows a view of the 1st tee and the 9th Green. A really good gastronomy with a trained chef, who has developed a golf-ready card, which still meets even certain culinary demands. The staff is friendly, but there is no real pro shop. The driving range is sufficient for a 9-hole course. Conclusion: In a beautiful landscape relaxed playing golf is really possible. And then also something good to eat.

The 9-hole course is certainly beautifully designed, is the player but no major challenges. Water does not come into play. Unfortunately, the place now presented in September as a unique large bunkers. Fairways and greens were sanded so that a regular game has not been possible. For this, the fairways and greens were very "hochflohrig" and thus dull and slow. Conclusion: Our enthusiasm was limited since the normal green fee was demanded and no reference to this maintenance work was carried out at the telephone appointment. Catering very friendly and good.

Beautiful golf course (10 hole!) Outstanding care condition and fast greens.
