Characteristics
The 9-hole golf course was designed by the famous golf architect John Chilver-Stainer. It has one par 5, five par 4s and three par 3s, and is mostly flat. Two lakes, nine sand bunkers around the greens and the numerous fairway and grass bunkers add variation to the game and demand a precision and strategy. The course can be played all through the year. At the roofed 20-bay driving range, you can also practise in bad weather. Putting green and pitching area are generously arranged. The club house with a restaurant. Changing rooms and caddy-boxes available.

Unfortunately, constant deterioration

A few years ago, this course was still very well maintained, a small, fine 9-hole course. For the last 3-4 years, the condition has been steadily deteriorating. Even with a good tee shot right into the middle of the fairway, you sometimes can't find the ball because the fairway is as high as the rough/semi-rough on other courses. Tees that are in tip-top condition are being replaced with artificial mats, probably to save on greenkeeping costs. When these artificial mats were installed on certain tees, it was clear to me that I would cancel my membership. Combined with the poor course maintenance, I had reached my pain threshold. I only use the driving range there in winter, which I like. I think green fees are too valuable for this course. All in all, it's really sad because, as I said, Rheinfelden used to be very well maintained and had great members.

Rheinfelden has an excellent driving range that is also open in winter. The quality of the training areas will be improved and the putting green in front of the clubhouse will be enlarged. The additional areas have already been marked out.

The golf course in Rheinfelden is truly unique - and unfortunately that's not a good thing. If you've ever wanted to play golf in a field with scattered holes and a touch of jungle, then you've come to the right place. The fairways are so uneven that they resemble a hiking trail, and the greens are so bumpy that you can never be sure where the ball will roll. Even the golf balls seem to wonder why they ended up here.
The view? Well, she's a bit like a modern work of art: wild and chaotic. If you want to see a passionate collection of weeds and lost dreams, then you've come to the right place.
Not a big disadvantage for the restaurant, as the mushrooms can be picked directly from the fairway.
